Homecoming (2023 Film)
''Homecoming'' () is a 2023 French drama film co-written and directed by Catherine Corsini. It is a family drama about a woman who returns to Corsica with her two teenage daughters for the summer. The film generated controversy for filming a scene of sexual nature involving underage actors without declaration to authorities, as well as allegations of sexual assault and poor working conditions on set. It was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where it had its world premiere on 17 May 2023. It was released in France on 12 July 2023. Synopsis Khédidja, a woman of African origin, travels to Corsica to take care of the children of a wealthy Parisian family for the summer. Her daughters, Jessica and Farah, accompany her. It is an opportunity for the family to rediscover the island which they left fifteen years ago following a tragedy. Catherine Corsini
Catherine Corsini (born 18 May 1956) is a French film director, screenwriter and actress. Her film ''Replay (2001 film), Replay'' was entered into the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Her 2012 film ''Three Worlds (film), Three Worlds'' competed in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. In April 2016, she was announced as the President of the Jury for the Caméra d'Or prize at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Corsini is partners with Elisabeth Perez, who has been a producer on some of her projects. The Gijón International Film Festival ( ast, Festival Internacional de Cine de Xixón or ''FICXixón'') is an annual film festival held in Gijón, a city in northwest Spain. History The festival's origins date back to 1963. In the beginning it was an initiative of the City Council of Gijón in co-operation with Caja de Ahorros de Asturias (Cajastur). Both entities co-operate with the Festival, the first as organizer and the second as sponsor. Weighted Average
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Although the name "Rotten Tomatoes" connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor stage performance, the original inspiration comes from a scene featuring tomatoes in the Canadian film ''Léolo'' (1992).
