Home And Away Invitational League
The Home and Away Invitational League was an intercollegiate basketball and volleyball league in the Philippines formed in 2004. It was administered by a group led by Far Eastern University Athletic Heads Anton Montinola and Mark Molina. The member teams were from different leagues around Metro Manila, namely the Ateneo de Manila University, the De La Salle University-Manila, the University of the East, the University of Santo Tomas, and the Far Eastern University from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines,the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, the Emilio Aguinaldo College, the Lyceum of the Philippines University, and the San Beda College from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), NCAA. UAAP Volleyball Champions
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournament is divided into four divisions, namely men's, women's, boys' and girls'. Volleyball is a mandatory sport in the women's division. The UAAP volleyball tournament was held in the first semester of the school year until the UAAP Board decided to move it to the second semester in Season 69 (school year 2006–2007). This decision was made so that the games can be televised to improve its popularity. Tournament format The tournament begins with a double round robin group stage, where a team meets its opponent twice in a season. A semi-finals round composed of the top four teams follows, after which the top two teams meet in the final in a best-of-three series. The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams.
