NCAA Philippines Volleyball Championship
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), National Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball tournament occurs every second semester of the academic year. It is divided into three divisions: the Juniors division for high school male students and the Seniors division which is subdivided into Men's Senior division for male college students and Women's Senior division for female college students. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. NCAA Season 96
} NCAA Season 96 is the 2020–21 athletic year of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Philippines. The season host is the Colegio de San Juan de Letran, coincidentally also celebrating its 400th anniversary. Background Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Metro Manila, the preceding season, NCAA Season 95, was terminated. This meant tournaments that were ongoing or have not been started were all canceled. No championships were decided on canceled tournaments, and no general champions were named. The Management Committee has recommended on starting the athletic year in November, instead of the usual July schedule, with President Rodrigo Duterte moving the start of the academic year to September. This is also the first season where foreigners are banned from playing. After UAAP Season 83 was cancelled, the NCAA insisted on going through with its season. Djanel Welch Cheng (born August 28, 1994) is a Filipina volleyball player. She currently plays for the Petro Gazz Angels in the Premier Volleyball League. Frances Xinia Dionisio Molina (born September 23, 1994) is a Filipino volleyball player. She currently plays as an outside hitter for the Cignal HD Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League. She played with the Philippine Super Liga All-Stars in the 2016 FIVB Club World Championship. She is part of the Philippines women's national volleyball team. Aurea Francesca "Cesca" Racraquin (born October 5, 1996) is a Filipino volleyball player of the collegiate varsity volleyball team of San Beda College that plays in the NCAA. John Vic Ortiz De Guzman (born September 23, 1993) is a Filipino athlete, volleyball player, actor, and singer. Early life and education De Guzman lived in Laguna in his early years and became involved in various extracurricular activities. In his first year of high school, he was part of a band.
