Djanel Welch Cheng
Djanel Welch Cheng (born August 28, 1994) is a Filipina volleyball player. She currently plays for the Petro Gazz Angels in the Premier Volleyball League. Personal life She and her sister Desiree Cheng both play volleyball. Career Djanel Cheng was a member of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde women's volleyball team. Her team claimed the first championship title in the NCAA in the NCAA Season 91 volleyball tournaments. In 2022, Cheng makes her comeback in Petro Gazz Angels as she transferred from Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors in 2020. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. Benilde Blazers Volleyball
The College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers women's volleyball team is the volleyball teams of De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde. History The CSB Lady Blazers first joined NCAA women's volleyball tournament in 1998. They claimed their first NCAA women's volleyball championship in the NCAA Season 91 beating the thrice-to-beat San Sebastian Lady Stags in 4th sets on the do-or-die Game 4 of the NCAA Season 91 finals series. In 2022, CSB Lady Blazers bags the NCAA Season 97 women's volleyball tournament championship with no loss. Aside from NCAA, CSB Lady Blazers also play in the Shakey's Super League and V-League. 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference
The 2023 Premier Volleyball League First All-Filipino Conference was the fourteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League and its fifth conference as a professional league. The tournament began on February 4, 2023, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. Formerly known as the Open Conference, the conference was rebranded as the "All-Filipino Conference" to better reflect the fact that the tournament's participation is restricted to Filipino players, including Filipino-Foreigners. Participating teams Venues This conference eyes hosting games again outside of Metro Manila such as in Lucena, Iloilo City, and Cagayan de Oro, just like in previous seasons from 2019 and prior. 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference
The 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the thirteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''40th conference of the former Shakey's V-League'') and its fourth conference as a professional league. The tournament began on 8 October and finished on 6 December 2022. This is the first reinforced conference in three years, since the last reinforced was commenced way back in 2019. It features nine local teams with one foreign guest player each. Among these nine teams are the returning F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and the debuting team — Akari Chargers. 2022 PVL Open Conference
The 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference was the eleventh conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''38th conference of the former Shakey's V-League'') and its second conference as a professional league. The conference was held from March 16 to April 8, 2022, pending restrictions brought by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A pool play format will be adapted for the first time wherein teams will be divided into two pools as opposed to a round-robin format where all teams play against each other at least once. Preliminary round was held at the Paco Arena in Manila. Quarterfinal round and Semifinals Game 1 & 3 was held at the San Juan Arena in San Juan. The Semifinals Game 2 and Finals Game 1 was held at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay while Finals Game 2 was held at Ynares Center in Antipolo, Rizal.
