History of Ha () is a 2021 Filipino drama film written, directed, and edited by Lav Diaz. It premiered at the BFI London Film Festival on October 12, 2021 as part of the Dare section. It earned seven nominations at the 2022 Gawad Urian Awards including Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Direction. The Young Critics' Circle awarded it Best Picture for 2021 and Best Actor for John Lloyd Cruz. Premise Hernando Alamada (John Lloyd Cruz), a vaudeville great and a former socialist cadre, knows that the Philippines is experiencing a bitter transition yet again after the president, Ramon Magsaysay, unexpectedly dies in a plane crash. Alamada treads on an aimless journey and descends into absurd madness before finding redemption. Lavrente Indico Anciro Diaz (born December 30, 1958) is a Filipino independent filmmaker and former film critic. Frequently known as one of the key members of the slow cinema movement, having made several of the list of longest films, longest narrative films on record. Diaz is one of the most critically acclaimed contemporary Filipino filmmakers. Diaz started making films in the late 1990s. His first international exposure was at the Hong Kong International Film Festival in 1999 with his directorial debut Serafin Geronimo: Kriminal ng Baryo Concepcion (The Criminal of Barrio Concepcion). The BFI London Film Festival is an annual film festival founded in 1957 and held in the United Kingdom, running for two weeks in October with co-operation from the British Film Institute. Gawad Urian Award
The Gawad Urian Awards are annual film awards in the Philippines held since 1977. It is given by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP, "the Filipino Film Critics") and is currently regarded as the counterpart of the United States' New York Film Critics Circle. Establishment The MPP was formed by a host of scholars, film writers and other award-winning writers on May 1, 1976 as a critics' voice to rival the then-only award-giving body in the Philippines, which is its Oscars', the FAMAS Awards. Three years earlier, what would be the members of the MPP were included in the judges' roster of the FAMAS after a shocking 1972 Best Actress tie materialized between major star Boots Anson-Roa and then-rising star Vilma Santos. John Lloyd Cruz
John Lloyd Espidol Cruz (born June 24, 1983) is a Filipino actor, model and occasional TV host. He was a member of ABS-CBN's Star Magic, where he is an alumnus of Batch 5. He starred in the teen drama ''Tabing Ilog'', and is best known for his works in soap operas such as ''It Might Be You'', ''Maging Sino Ka Man'', '' I ♥ Betty La Fea'', and ''Imortal''. Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay Sr. (August 31, 1907 – March 17, 1957) was a Filipino statesman who served as the seventh president of the Philippines, from December 30, 1953, until his death in an aircraft disaster on March 17, 1957. An automobile mechanic by profession, Magsaysay was appointed military governor of Zambales after his outstanding service as a guerrilla leader during the Pacific War. Dolly Earnshaw de Leon (born 1968 or 1969) is a Filipino film, television, and theater actress.
