Exeter City F.C. is an English association football, football club based in Exeter, Devon. The club was formed in 1901 as St. Sidwell's United and played in the Southern Football League, Southern League from 1908 until 1920, when that league's top division was absorbed into The Football League as its new Division Three. The club was the first ever team to play the Brazil national football team, Brazil national team in 1914, a match which was commemorated in a 2014 friendly game against Fluminense FC, Fluminense. Exeter () is a city in Devon, South West England. It is situated on the River Exe, approximately northeast of Plymouth and southwest of Bristol. St James Park (Exeter)
St James Park is a football stadium in Exeter and is the home of Exeter City FC. The stadium is served by the St James Park railway station, which is right next to the ground (the line runs behind the grandstand). It has been adopted by the club who contribute to its upkeep, under the community rail scheme, and its railings have been painted in the red and white of Exeter's strip. The capacity of St James Park following completion of a £3.4 million redevelopment project is 8,219. Terry Cooper (footballer, Born 1944)
Terence Cooper (12 July 1944 – 31 July 2021) was an English association football, football player and manager. He was a left back in the Leeds United F.C., Leeds United team of the 1960s and 1970s, and featured for England at the 1970 Mexico World Cup. He later went on to manage both of Bristol's football teams, Birmingham City F.C., Birmingham City and was twice manager of Exeter City F.C., Exeter City. Early career Cooper was born in Brotherton, West Riding of Yorkshire.
