FIBA Europe Cup
The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA's European-wide second level. Clubs mainly qualify for the competition based on their performance in national leagues and cup competitions, although this is not the sole deciding factor. The league was founded in 2015 as a replacement of the FIBA EuroChallenge. History On June 30, 2015, FIBA announced it would start a new league to compete with Euroleague Basketball's EuroCup. The new competition, which replaced EuroChallenge, was supposed to be open for up to 100 teams to enter. National Basketball Arena
National Basketball Arena, also known as Tallaght Arena, is an indoor sporting arena located in Tymon Park, Tallaght, South Dublin, adjacent to the M50 motorway. The capacity of the arena is 2,500 people and it opened in January 1993. It is used mainly for basketball events, but has also hosted other indoor sports, most notably futsal, as well as exhibitions, concerts and cultural events. Colin O'Reilly
Colin O'Reilly (born 30 January 1984) is an Irish basketball coach and former player. He played Division III college basketball for Post University in the United States in the early 2000s and later represented the Irish national team as both a player and as a player-coach. Professional career On 26 March 2015, O'Reilly was named an inaugural Premier League All-Star First Pick alongside UCC Demons teammates Kyle Hosford and Lehmon Colbert. Three days later, he helped Demons create Irish basketball history by winning the Champions Trophy and adding to their undefeated 2014–15 season. Basketball Ireland (BI; ga, Cispheil Éireann) is the national governing body for the sport on the island of Ireland. 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four.
