2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four. Starting from the Round of 16, quarter-finals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four. Teams The deadline to register in the competition was on July 30. The official list of teams was announced on August 3. 2016 FIBA Europe Cup Final Four
The 2016 FIBA Europe Cup Final Four was the inaugural Final Four tournament in FIBA Europe Cup history, and was the concluding stage of the 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup season. The Final Four was held from 29 April until 1 May 2016. On 6 April 2016, FIBA announced that the tournament was to be held at Le Colisée in Chalon-sur-Saône, France. The National Basketball League (NBL) (in Bulgarian: Националната баскетболна лига) is the highest professional basketball league in Bulgaria. The current league was founded in 2008, though the first-tier level existed since 1942 and was previously called the Bulgarian A Division. The games in the NBL are played under FIBA rules. BC Academic Metropol Region ( bg, БК "Академик" Метропол-Рийджън) is a reestablished Bulgarian professional basketball club based in the capital Sofia. In April 2022, Academic has been reborn and rebranded by the new owners, the german-bulgarian Ex-professional basketball player Viktor Vladov and Georgi Petrov. 2014–15 Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague
The 2014–15 Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague was the 24th edition of the Ukrainian top-tier basketball championship. The season started on October 11, 2014 and ended on May 4, 2015. Because of the unrest in Ukraine, just 7 foreign players played in the league this season. BC Donetsk and BC Azovmash didn't participate this season. In the regular season, Khimik took the top seed unbeaten with a 30–0 record, and eventually took the title after winning 36 games in a row. Khimik Yuzhne ( uk, Хімік Южне) is a Ukrainian professional basketball club that is based in Yuzhne. The club plays in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. In 2006, the club reached the final of the EuroCup Challenge, where they were defeated by Ural Great Perm. History The team was founded in 2001 as BC Khimik.
