Hexen II
''Hexen II'' is a dark fantasy first-person shooter (FPS) video game developed by Raven Software and published by id Software. It is the third game in the '' Hexen''/'' Heretic'' series, and the last in the ''Serpent Riders'' trilogy. Using a modified ''Quake'' engine, it features single-player and multiplayer game modes, as well as four character classes to choose from, each with different abilities. These include the "offensive" Paladin, the "defensive" Crusader, the spell-casting Necromancer, and the stealthy Assassin. Improvements from '' Hexen: Beyond Heretic'' and '' Quake'' include destructible environments, mounted weapons, and unique level up abilities. Like its predecessor, ''Hexen II'' also uses a hub system. These hubs are a number of interconnected levels; changes made in one level have effects in another. Furthermore, the Tome of Power artifact makes a return from '' Heretic''. Gameplay The gameplay of ''Hexen II'' is very similar to that of the original ''Hexen'' ...

Hexenal
''cis''-3-Hexenal, also known as (''Z'')-3-hexenal and leaf aldehyde, is an organic compound with the formula CH3CH2CH=CHCH2CHO. It is classified as an Saturated and unsaturated compounds, unsaturated aldehyde. It is a colorless liquid and an aroma compound with an intense odor of freshly cut grass and Leaf, leaves. Occurrence It is one of the major volatile compounds in ripe tomatoes, although it tends to Isomerization, isomerize into the conjugated system, conjugated ''trans''-2-hexenal. It is produced in small amounts by most plants and it acts as an attractant to many predatory insects. It is also a pheromone in many insect species. See also *cis-3-Hexen-1-ol, ''cis''-3-hexen-1-ol has a similar but weaker odor and is used in Flavoring, flavors and perfumes. *1-Hexanol, another volatile organic compound, also considered responsible for the freshly mowed grass odor External links Hexenal References

Cis-3-Hexen-1-ol
''cis''-3-Hexen-1-ol, also known as (''Z'')-3-hexen-1-ol and leaf alcohol, is a colorless oily liquid with an intense grassy-green odor of freshly cut green grass and leaves. It is produced in small amounts by most plants and it acts as an attractant to many predatory insects. ''cis''-3-Hexen-1-ol is a very important aroma compound that is used in fruit and vegetable flavors and in perfumes. The yearly production is about 30 tonnes. ''cis''-3-Hexen-1-ol is an alcohol and its esters are also important flavor and fragrance raw materials. The related aldehyde ''cis''-3-hexenal (leaf aldehyde) has a similar and even stronger smell but is relatively unstable and isomerizes into the conjugated ''trans''-2-hexenal. This compound has been recognized as a semiochemical involved in mechanisms and behaviors of attraction in diverse animals such as insects and mammals. However, there is no scientific evidence of its aphrodisiac effects in humans. The popular Mexican alcoholic beverage ...

N-Ethylhexedrone
''N''-Ethylhexedrone (also known as α-ethylaminocaprophenone, ''N''-ethylnorhexedrone, hexen, and NEH) is a stimulant of the cathinone class that acts as a norepinephrine–dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI) with IC50 values of 0.0978 and 0.0467 μM, respectively. ''N''-Ethylhexedrone was first mentioned in a series of patents by Boehringer Ingelheim in the 1960s which led to the development of the better-known drug methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV). Since the mid-2010s, ''N''-ethylhexedrone has been sold online as a designer drug. In 2018, ''N''-ethylhexedrone was the second most common drug of the cathinone class to be identified in Drug Enforcement Administration seizures. ''N''-Ethylhexedrone was first synthesized by Boehringer Ingelheim in 1964. It appears to have emerged on the online research chemical market in late 2015. It is an example of a novel psychoactive substance specifically chosen to mimic the features of prohibited substances and bypass drug laws. It is one ...

The prefix "hex" is derived from the fact that there are 6 carbon atoms in the molecule, while the "-ene" suffix denotes that there is an alkene present—two carbon atoms are connected via a double bond. There are several isomers of hexene,Hexene
Merriam-Webster Dictionary depending on the position and geometry of the double bond in the chain. One of the most common industrially useful isomers is 1-hexene, an . Hexene is used as a in the produc ...

3,5,5-Trimethyl-2-cyclo-hexen-1-one
Isophorone is an α,β-unsaturated cyclic ketone. It is a colorless liquid with a characteristic peppermint-like odor, although commercial samples can appear yellowish. Used as a solvent and as a precursor to polymers, it is produced on a large scale industrially. Structure and reactivity Isophorone undergoes reactions characteristic of an α,β-unsaturated ketone. Hydrogenation gives the cyclohexanone derivative. Epoxidation with basic hydrogen peroxide affords the oxide. Isophorone is degraded by attack of hydroxyl radicals. Photodimerization When exposed to sunlight in aqueous solutions, isophorone undergoes 2+2 photocycloaddition to give three isomeric photodimers (Figure). These "diketomers" are cis-syn-cis, head to tail (HT), cys-anti-cys (HT), and head-head (HH). The formation of HH photodimers is favored over HT photodimers with increasing polarity of the medium. Natural Occurrence Isophorone occurs naturally in cranberries. Synthesis Isophorone is pro ...
