Hero Thrill Show
The Hero thrill show fundraising event helps ensure that the children of Philadelphia Police Officers and Firefighters that are killed or severely disabled in the line of duty can receive financial assistance in order to complete their education. First Thrill Show held in Philadelphia on July 23, 1941 at Municipal Stadium. History Created in 1954 because of an explosion that took the lives of ten firefighters, the Police and Firefighter Thrill Show has assisted over 800 students graduate from various colleges and universities. With the help of these scholarships, there are currently 50 students attending colleges throughout the United States. The main source of funding is through the sale of tickets and proceeds coming from the annual Hero Thrill Show, which is held in the Wachovia Spectrum Complex. Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders
The Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders are the cheerleading squad of the Philadelphia Eagles, who plays in the NFL. The squad features 38 women. The squad debuted in 1948 as the Eaglettes, and became the Liberty Belles in the 1970s, and became the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders in the 1980s. In April, the squad holds annual auditions at the Kimmel Center, with the final auditions being aired on PhiladelphiaEagles.com. The squad, was unique in that it released a swimsuit calendar, but the Eagles Cheerleaders have also released it on Android, as well as iOS for $1.99. Today, the Eagles Cheerleaders releases a booklet about the squad. The squad's director, Barbara Zaun, was a titleholder for Miss USA and Miss America, and also coordinated the Eagles Cheerleaders for Super Bowl XXXIX, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, as well as various photo shoots. Hip Hop (mascot)
Hip Hop was the mascot of the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team. A rabbit character, Hip Hop usually entertained Sixers fans during halftime and time-outs by performing acrobatic slam dunks from a trampoline, often over an item or person, such as a motorcycle, a Sixer Dancer, a fan, or a ladder. Hip Hop also appeared at various Sixers publicity events and fundraisers. Assisting Hip Hop at every home game were a sidekick, Lil Hip Hop, and a group of helpers, known as the Hare Raisers. It was revealed Hip-Hop would not be returning post lockout under new Sixers ownership. The decision was unanimous from the new owners. Swoop (Philadelphia Eagles)
Swoop is the mascot for the American professional football team the Philadelphia Eagles. He is an eagle wearing a sports jersey of the Philadelphia Eagles. Fictional biography Born Eagles Forest in Neshaminy State Park, Swoop was a bald eagle with poor eyesight and strength, but a "strong and true" heart. The bird gained a humanoid appearance and size after a Philadelphia Eagles fan gave him a jersey that increased his strength, and his vision grew to match his heart. The Phillie Phanatic is the official mascot for the Philadelphia Phillies Major League Baseball team. He is a large, furry, green flightless bird with an extendable tongue.
