Hermann Fellner
Hermann Fellner (20 December 1950 – 17 May 2020) was a German politician, representative of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria. He was a member of the Bundestag of Germany. Fellner was in its youth chairman of the local federation of the Young Union Ehenfeld - Massenricht. During his studies he was active in the Ring Christlich-Demokratischer Studenten. In 1980, Fellner moved into the German Bundestag as the youngest member of parliament at the time as a direct representative of the Amberg constituency. He was a member of the German Bundestag until 1990. During this time, he held the office of domestic policy spokesman for the CSU state-group (Landesgruppe), among other things. The Christian Social Union in Bavaria (German language, German: , CSU) is a Christian democracy, Christian-democratic and Conservatism in Germany, conservative List of political parties in Germany, political party in Germany. Having a regionalism (politics), regionalist identity, the CSU operates only in Bavaria while its larger counterpart, the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, Christian Democratic Union (CDU), operates in the other fifteen states of Germany. The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. Amberg
Amberg () is a town in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in the Upper Palatinate, roughly halfway between Regensburg and Bayreuth. In 2020, over 42,000 people lived in the town. History The town was first mentioned in 1034, at that time under the name Ammenberg. It became an important trading centre in the Middle Ages, exporting mainly iron ore and iron products. In 1269, together with Bamberg, the town became subordinate to the Wittelsbach dynasty that ruled Bavaria. In 1329 the town and the entire region fell to the Palatinate branch of the Wittelsbach family. The region adopted the name Upper Palatinate. Friedrich Flick (10 July 1883 – 20 July 1972) was a German industrialist and convicted Nazi war criminal. After the Second World War, he reconstituted his businesses, becoming the richest person in West Germany, and one of the richest people in the world, at the time of his death in 1972.
