Christian Social Union In Bavaria
The Christian Social Union in Bavaria (German: , CSU) is a Christian-democratic and conservative political party in Germany. Having a regionalist identity, the CSU operates only in Bavaria while its larger counterpart, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), operates in the other fifteen states of Germany. It differs from the CDU by being somewhat more conservative in social matters, following Catholic social teaching. The CSU is considered the ''de facto'' successor of the Weimar-era Catholic Bavarian People's Party. At the federal level, the CSU forms a common faction in the Bundestag with the CDU which is frequently referred to as the Union Faction (''die Unionsfraktion'') or simply CDU/CSU. The CSU has 45 seats in the Bundestag since the 2021 federal election, making it currently the second smallest of the seven parties represented. Gertrud Bäumer
Gertrud Bäumer (12 September 1873, Hagen-Hohenlimburg, Westphalia – 25 March 1954, Bethel) was a German politician who actively participated in the German civil rights feminist movement. She was also a writer, and contributed to Friedrich Naumann's paper ''Die Hilfe''. From 1898, Bäumer lived and worked together with the German feminist and politician Helene Lange. Life Gertrud Bäumer studied in Berlin and received her Ph.D. in 1905. Her dissertation was on Goethe's ''Satyron''. Bäumer edited the ''Handbuch der Frauenbewegung'' andbook of the Women's Movementfrom 1901–1906. From 1916–1920 she was in charge of the Social Pedagogical Institute with Marie Braun. Marie Baum
Marie Baum (23 March 1874 – 8 August 1964), was a German politician of the German Democratic Party (DDP) and social activist. She was one of the first female members of the Weimar National Assembly. She was a pioneer within German welfare and workers security. Marie Baum was born in Danzig, West Prussia, German Empire (Gdańsk, Poland). She studied chemistry at the University of Zürich, where she met Ricarda Huch. From 1897 to 1899 she worked at the ETH Zürich, afterwards she moved to Berlin, where she started to engage in politics and social welfare in 1902. In 1919, representing the German Democratic Party, she was elected a member of the Weimar National Assembly for Schleswig-Holstein. Josef Bauer (politician)
Josef Bauer (10 June 1915, Wasserburg am Inn – 15 July 1989) was a German politician of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria. Bauer started from 1953 as a town councillor in Bavaria. He belonged to the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1969. From 1963 to 1969 he was deputy chairman of the CSU regional committee in CDU/CSU the Bundestag faction. He represented the constituency Altötting in the parliament. From 1962 to 1970 Bauer was also state parliament delegate for the CSU in Bavaria. He was governor of Landkreis Wasserburg am Inn from 1970 to 1972. Julia Obermeier (born Julia Bartz 7 September 1984) is a German politician (CSU). She was a member of the German parliament (''Bundestag'') from 2013 to 2017, and was a member of the assembly's defence committee. Since 2015 she has also been a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Life Julia Bartz was born in Munich. Richard Bartsch (born August 1, 1959) is a German politician, representative of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria. Bartsch is noted for his work with geriatrics institutions. Dorothee Gisela Renate Maria Bär ( Mantel; born 19 April 1978) is a German politician of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU) who has been serving as a member of the German Bundestag since 2002.
