Henry Lauterbach
Henry Lauterbach (born 22 October 1957 in Buttstädt, Bezirk Erfurt) is a retired East German high jumper and long jumper. In the high jump he finished fourth at the 1978 European Championships in Prague, Czechoslovakia and sixth at the 1979 European Indoor Championships in Vienna, Austria. He competed at the 1976 Olympic Games, but did not reach the final round; at the 1980 Olympic Games however he finished fourth. With a jump of 2.29 metres he missed out on the bronze medal by 2 centimetres; the bronze and gold medals were won by his compatriots Jörg Freimuth and Gerd Wessig respectively. Lauterbach was ranked sixth in the world that season by ''Track and Field News''. In domestic competitions, Lauterbach represented the sports club SC Turbine Erfurt. Potsdam
Potsdam () is the capital and, with around 183,000 inhabitants, largest city of the German state of Brandenburg. It is part of the Berlin/Brandenburg Metropolitan Region. Frank Paschek (born 25 June 1956) is a retired East German long jumper. He was born in Bad Doberan, Bezirk Rostock, and won a silver medal for East Germany at the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow, Soviet Union. Lutz Dombrowski
Lutz Dombrowski (born 25 June 1959) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympic champion. Early life Dombrowski was born in 1959 in Zwickau. Wilhelm Pieck, who at the time of Dombrowski's birth was president of East Germany, was his god-father; he was Pieck's second god-child after Hannelore Anke. Career Dombrowski was the best-ever long jumper from the former East Germany. After winning at the European cup in 1979 he won the gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympic games in Moscow. In 1982, he was European champion. He represented the Karl-Marx-Stadt sport club. His 8.54 meter winning jump in Moscow was a low-altitude record and still stands as the German national record. At the time, it was the second best jump in history behind Bob Beamon's world record of 8.90 set in 1968.
