Henry Hunt (cricketer)
Henry James Hunt (born 7 January 1997) is an Australian cricketer, currently playing for South Australia as an opening batsman. Early life and career Hunt grew up living on a farm near a small town between Grenfell and Cowra in New South Wales. His father, James Hunt, had played for the Canberra Raiders, a rugby league team, and built a cricket net in the backyard of their family home. He originally played grade cricket for Queanbeyan District and was first selected to play for the ACT/NSW Country Comets in the 2014–15 season of the Futures League. Hunt played for Australia under-19s in 2015–16, and he was named in Australia's squad that was scheduled to play in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, but withdrew from the tournament due to security concerns. In the 2018–19 season Hunt scored 208 in a Futures League match against Queensland Under-23s, followed by another four half-centuries during the season. Cowra
Cowra is a small town in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the largest population centre and the council seat for the Cowra Shire, with a population of 9,863. Batting Average (cricket)
In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism). The number is also simple to interpret intuitively. If all the batter's innings were completed (i.e. they were out every innings), this is the average number of runs they score per innings. The 2021–22 Marsh One-Day Cup was the 53rd season of the official List A domestic cricket competition played in Australia. New South Wales were the defending champions. On 21 July 2021, Cricket Australia confirmed the schedule of the tournament, with the final scheduled to be played on 27 February 2022. Boundary (cricket)
In cricket, the boundary is the perimeter of a playing field. It is also the term given to a scoring shot where the ball is hit to, or beyond, that perimeter, which generally earns four or six runs for the batting team. Edge of the field The boundary is the edge of the playing field, or the physical object (often a rope) marking the edge of the field. In low-level matches, a series of plastic cones are sometimes used. Since the early 2000s, the boundaries at professional matches are often a series of padded cushions carrying sponsors' logos strung along a rope. If one of these is accidentally moved during play (such as by a fielder sliding into the rope in an attempt to stop the ball) the boundary is considered to remain at the point where that object first stood. Jake Weatherald
Jake Weatherald (born 4 November 1994) is an Australian cricketer. Originally from Darwin in the Northern Territory, he is an opening batsman who plays for South Australia in both first-class and one-day cricket and plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. He had a breakout season in 2015–16, making his first-class debut for South Australia in the Sheffield Shield and scoring two half-centuries in the final. 2019–20 Sheffield Shield Season
The 2019–20 Sheffield Shield season was the 118th season of the Sheffield Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in Australia. It began on 10 October 2019 and was scheduled to finish on 31 March 2020. The first four rounds took place prior to the international Test series against Pakistan, and in addition the season breaks for the Big Bash League. Victoria were the defending champions. In December 2019, during the sixth round match between Victoria and Western Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, play was suspended after 40 overs on the first day due to a dangerous pitch. Victoria Cricket Team
The Victoria men’s cricket team is an Australian first-class men's cricket team based in Melbourne, Victoria. The men’s team, which first played in 1851, represents the state of Victoria in the Marsh Sheffield Shield first-class competition and the Marsh One Day Cup 50-over competition. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. The 2021–22 Big Bash League season or BBL, 11 was the eleventh season of the Big Bash League, the professional men's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. University Of NSW Cricket Club
University of New South Wales Cricket Club is a cricket club associated with the University of New South Wales, New South Wales, Australia. They are also known as the Bumble Bees and play in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition. They were founded in 1951, beginning in the Municipal and Sydney Shires Cricket competition and entered the Sydney Grade Cricket competition in 1973. In the current season, 2018 to 2019, UNSWCC has fielded five graded sides plus one in the Metropolitan Cup competition, which is akin to 6th grade. In cricket, a century is a score of 100 or more runs in a single innings by a batsman. The term is also included in "century partnership" which occurs when two batsmen add 100 runs to the team total when they are batting together. A century is regarded as a landmark score for batsmen and a player's number of centuries is generally recorded in their career statistics. Scoring a century is loosely equivalent in merit to a bowler taking a five-wicket haul, and is commonly referred to as a ton or hundred.
