Helsinki Roosters
Helsinki Roosters is an American football team based in Helsinki, Finland. The team plays in the Vaahteraliiga in Finland and their home field is the Helsinki Velodrome. History Roosters were founded in 1979 and the club is a founding member of the American Football Association of Finland (SAJL). The team has played in every season of the Vaahteraliiga and has only been left out of the playoffs twice. The Roosters have won the regular season 11 times and have gone the whole season unbeaten for five times (in 1983, 1988, 1999, 2002 and 2013). The Roosters have friendly rivalry with local Helsinki Wolverines and Helsinki 69ers. Roosters have also been successful in international competitions. In 1988 they won the Eurobowl II in London, where the Roosters beat Amsterdam Crusaders 35–14. In 1989 Roosters came third-placed. In 1994, Roosters took part in the Football League of Europe. Tim Johnson (American Football Coach)
Tim Johnson (born May 15, 1962) is an American football coach and former player. He played high school football at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and college football at William Jewell College from 1981 to 1984. He was an All-American linebacker and Academic All-American. He was inducted into the William Jewell College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. Johnson also played in Finland and later coached in Europe as well. Europe In 1985, Johnson signed with and played professionally for the East City Giants of Finland's Vaahteraliiga. Michael Joseph Patrick Kane (born 9 January 1969) is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wythenshawe and Sale East since February 2014. Michael Quarshie (born 13 November 1979 in Erlangen, Germany) is a Finnish American football defensive tackle. Quarshie was born in Germany in 1979. After living in Germany for six years and in Ghana for a short period, his family moved to Finland. He graduated from high school and completed his mandatory military service before moving to the U.S. to study and play football.
