Roope Noronen
Roope Noronen (born 1974) is the president of American Football Association of Finland, SAJL. Noronen has been the president of SAJL since 2001. Noronen has been vice-president of European Federation of American Football EFAF since 2001 and is currently elected to serve as Senior Vice-president until 2010. Noronen was also elected into Executive Board of International Federation of American Football IFAF as European representative in 2006. Noronen has led different committees both in EFAF and in IFAF and is a member of tournament committee of World Cup tournament held in Japan in 2007.IFAF press release

American Football Association of Finland (Finnish: Suomen Amerikkalaisen Jalkapallon Liitto, abbreviated SAJL) is the national governing body of American football in Finland. It was founded in 1979 and it is a founding member of the European Federation of American Football, EFAF and International Federation of American Football, IFAF. Since 2000, American football has grown steadily. In 2006 there were 27 clubs playing the sport with over 100 teams and over 1400 players. In 2012, the association's competitions fielded over 150 teams with more than 2200 licensed players. The President of the American Football Association of Finland is Roope Noronen. Members The sport, like it is in the vast majority of other sports, is club-based in Finland. In 2013, the association had a total of 36 active member clubs. IFAF Europe replaced the European Federation of American Football (EFAF) which had began in 1976 as the American European Football Federation (AEFF). The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) is the international governing body of gridiron associations. The IFAF oversees the IFAF World Championship of American Football, which is held every four years. The IFAF became a provisionary member of SportAccord in 2003, and became a full SportAccord member in 2005. The organisation's head office is located in the French commune of La Courneuve, in the Île-de-France region.
