Odense Q
Odense Q is a Danish women's football team from Odense, playing in Kvinde 1. division, the second highest division of women's football in Denmark. The team was originally created as the women's football section of Odense Boldklub. They were promoted into the top division for the first time in 1989. After losing the 1995 Danish Women's Cup final to Fortuna Hjørring, the team gained revenge in 1998 by beating Fortuna in the final and securing their first Cup win. Odense also won the Cup in 1999 and 2003, and the league title in 2000 and 2001. Due to a lack of support from Odense Boldklub, the team decided to break away and form an independent women's football club for the 2016–17 Elitedivisionen season. Fortuna Hjørring is a women's association football team from Hjørring, Denmark. The club was formed in 1966 and play in green and white. Their biggest achievement in European football was reaching the 2002–03 UEFA Women's Cup final where they ultimately lost 1–7 on aggregate to Umeå IK. They are one of the two most successful clubs in Danish women's football, with among 11 titles. The next try at a European Cup came in 2009–10 with the newly created UEFA Women's Champions League. In the round of 32 they defeated Italians Bardolino but then lost the round of 16 to eventual finalist Lyon. In the 2016–17 season they reached their best result since the final in 2003, when they made it to the quarter-finals which they lost 0–2 on aggregate to Manchester City. The Denmark women's national football team ( da, Danmarks kvindefodboldlandshold) represents Denmark in international women's football. The team is controlled by the Danish Football Association (DBU) and competes as a member of UEFA in various international football tournaments such as the FIFA Women's World Cup, UEFA Women's Euro, the Summer Olympics, and the Algarve Cup. Denmark have qualified four times for the FIFA Women's World Cup and nine times for the UEFA Women's Championship, reaching the final in 2017.
