Hedong District, Tianjin
Hedong District () is located at the heart of the municipality of Tianjin, People's Republic of China. Its name literally means "east of the river", referring to its location east of the Hai River. Parts of the district were once part of the Russian Concession during the colonial period in the early 20th century. As of 2020, Hedong District has a population of 858,787. It hosts Tianjin Railway Station, Tianjin Customs House and General Mail Office of Tianjin. It also hosts Tianjin Conservatory of Music and Tianjin Polytechnic University (which used to be a branch of Tianjin University, the oldest university of China). Changzhou Avenue Subdistrict () is a subdistrict situated in the northern portion of Hedong District, Tianjin. it shares border with Yueyahe and Huaming Subdistricts to the north, Lushan Avenue Subdistrict to the east, Xiangyanglou Subdistrict to the south, and Chunhua Subdistrict to the west. Xiangyanglou Subdistrict () is a subdistrict located on the northern portion of Hedong District, Tianjin. it borders Changzhou Street Subdistrict in the north, Dongxin Subdistrict in the east, Shanghang Road Subdistrict in the south, and Tangjiakou Subdistrict in the west. In 2010, the subdistrict was home to 80,678 residents. The subdistrict was established in 1979 from a portion of Tangjiakou Subdistrict. Erhaoqiao Subdistrict () is a subdistrict on southeastern Hedong District, Tianjin. It borders Wanxin and Xinli Subdistricts to the northerst, Zhangguizhuang Subdistrict to the southeast, Wanxin Subdistrict to the southwest, as well as Fumin Road and Zhongshanmen Subdistricts to the northwest. Zhongshanmen Subdistrict () is a subdistrict located in the southern side of Hedong District, Tianjin. it shares border Shanghang Road and Wanxing Subdistricts to the northeast, Erhaoqiao Subdistrict to the southeast, Fumin Road Subdistrict to the southwest, and Dazhigu Subdistrict to the northwest. Hanyu Pinyin (), often shortened to just pinyin, is the official romanization system for Standard Mandarin Chinese in China, and to some extent, in Singapore and Malaysia.
