''Head First'' is an Australian documentary television series which premiered on ABC2 from 1 May 2013. It is presented by Sabour Bradley. The series focuses on controversial topics in Australian society such as transgender issues, stem cell research, the porn industry, and rhino poaching in Africa. The second season of the show aired on ABC1 from 16 July 2014. The series was a critical success. Ratings for the fourth episode of season 1 were the highest overnight figures for an ABC2-commissioned show ever. ABC2
ABC TV Plus (formerly ABC2 and ABC Comedy) is an Australian free-to-air television channel owned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and part of its ABC Television network. The channel broadcasts a range of general entertainment programming. Between the hours of 5am and 7.30pm daily, the channel's bandwidth is used for the ABC Kids channel for young children. SDTV
Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. The two common SDTV signal types are 576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution, derived from the European-developed PAL and SECAM systems, and 480i based on the American NTSC system. Sabour Bradley
Sabour Bradley is an Australian filmmaker, writer and broadcaster. He is known for his documentary series '' Extreme Tourist Afghanistan'' on National Geographic, and ''Head First'' on the ABC, as well as his writing and producing roles on narrative fiction projects such as Represent, and the children's television series ''Bobo & Kipi''. Bradley was born and raised near Bunbury, Western Australia, and educated at the Victorian College of the Arts. Transgender
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Many transgender people experience dysphoria, which they seek to alleviate through transitioning, often adopting a different name and set of pronouns in the process. Poaching has been defined as the illegal hunting or capturing of wild animals, usually associated with land use rights. Poaching was once performed by impoverished peasants for subsistence purposes and to supplement meager diets. It was set against the hunting privileges of nobility and territorial rulers. Since the 1980s, the term "poaching" has also been used to refer to the illegal harvesting of wild plant species. In agricultural terms, the term 'poaching' is also applied to the loss of soils or grass by the damaging action of feet of livestock, which can affect availability of productive land, water pollution through increased runoff and welfare issues for cattle.
