List Of S-train Stations
See also: List of Copenhagen S-train lines There are 86 stations that are operated in normal operation on the Copenhagen S-train, an urban rail network which serves the Copenhagen metropolitan area in Denmark. The stations are located on six suburban radial routes - A, B, Bx, C, E, H, and a ring line ( F). Forty-six are elevated, twenty-one are street level, fifteen are below street, four have different levels and one is underground. Of the 84 stations, are 32 located inside the four one-figured ticket fare zones, and another 35 stations are located within the Copenhagen Urban area. 17 stations can be said to be located in suburbs.According to the Danish map book "Kraks kort- København & Omergn 2011" ("Krak's Maps Copenhagen & surroundings 2011"), S-train section, p. 324-325, Lines E and H do not operate during weekends and nights. Værløse
Værløse () is a town in Furesø Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. As of 1 January 2022, it has a population of 13,069. Situated on the west side of the Hillerød Motorway, between Farum Lake to the north and Søndersø Lake to the south, it is surrounded by forest on three sides. Modern Værløse emerged around Værløse station in the 1950s. The original centre of the parish was the village of Kirke Værløse, located three kilometres to the west. The two communities have now almost merged. History Kirke Værløse is mentioned in 1321–23 as ''Vetherløsa maklæ''. The meaning of the name is unclear but it may be an old name for the lake Søndersø. The suffix ''-løse'' means "area used for grazing in a clearing" ("græsgang i lysning"). The word ''maklæ'' (''magle'') means Freat (''store''). A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track. DSB (railway Company)
DSB, an abbreviation of ''Danske Statsbaner'' (, ''Danish State Railways''), is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. While DSB is responsible for passenger train operation on most of the Danish railways, goods transport and railway maintenance are outside its scope. DSB runs a commuter rail system, called the S-train, in the area around the Danish capital, Copenhagen, that connects the different areas and suburbs in the greater metropolitan area. Hareskovbanen
Hareskovbanen (English: ''the Hareskov line'') is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects the city center to a number of northwestern suburbs and the cities of Værløse and Farum, with the terminus placed in the latter. History The line was opened in 1906 as part of the private ''København-Slangerup Jernbane'' which went to Slangerup, about two thirds from Farum to Frederikssund. Its terminus in Copenhagen was København L, close to present day Nørrebro station on the S-train ring line - the station building of this station still stands. This was quite a bit from the city center, but the station was supposed to be temporary until the exact routing of the various new railways near Copenhagen that were in planning around the turn of the century had been finalized.
