Happy Mania
is an 11-volume manga series created by Moyoko Anno. Translated by Shirley Kubo and Leah Ginsberg, the English version was published in paperback by TokyoPop in 2003 and 2004. It was one of Tokyopop's first "Mature" rated series, and was sold in shrink wrap on US store shelves. Happy Mania is a good example of ''josei'' manga, a genre of manga aimed at women over 20 that deals more with the adult aspect of being a woman in contemporary Japan. Plot Shigeta, a young woman of 24, spends her days working at Tanaka Books and fretting over her love-life; or, more accurately, the lack thereof. The thing is, though, the biggest obstacle between Shigeta and a satisfying relationship seems to be Shigeta herself. Moyoko Anno
is a Japanese mangaka, manga artist and fashion writer, with numerous books published in both categories. Her work ''Sugar Sugar Rune'' won the Kodansha manga award for children in 2005. Anno is married to director Hideaki Anno of ''Neon Genesis Evangelion'' fame. Anno has aspired to being a manga artist since her third year at elementary school. Works Anno draws inspiration from the fashion world, and her work is noted for its detail which gives it a broader appeal than just the demographic it is aimed for. She delves into the psychology of her characters. Her manga and books have attained considerable popularity among young women in Japan. ''Feel Young'' is a monthly josei manga magazine published by Shodensha in Japan. Manga artists whose stories have run in this magazine include Moyoco Anno, Mitsue Aoki, Mitsukazu Mihara, Kiriko Nananan, Mari Okazaki, Erica Sakurazawa, Ebine Yamaji, and others. Free love is a social movement that accepts all forms of love. The movement's initial goal was to separate the state from sexual and romantic matters such as marriage, birth control, and adultery.
