Hanza Media (until July 1, 2016: Europapress Holding, or EPH) is the leading media company in Croatia and Southeast Europe, with 5 daily newspapers, more than 20 magazines, and 20 digital editions. Hanza Media's consumer magazines are aimed at the public and range from general-interest titles, which appeal to a broad spectrum of readers, to highly specialist titles covering particular hobbies, leisure pursuits or other interest. Hanza Media also has strong national and international operations and is involved in printed media distribution, media production and tourism. At the end of the first decade of the century the EPH did not timely nor successfully adapt to market and financial crisis that hit the newspaper industry after 2008, primarily dramatically reducing resources from advertising and marketing. Karlovac
Karlovac () is a city in central Croatia. According to the 2011 census, its population was 55,705. Karlovac is the administrative centre of Karlovac County. University Of Zagreb
The University of Zagreb ( hr, Sveučilište u Zagrebu, ; la, Universitas Studiorum Zagrabiensis) is the largest Croatian university and the oldest continuously operating university in the area covering Central Europe south of Vienna and all of Southeastern Europe. The University of Zagreb and the University North are the only public universities operating in Northern and Central Croatia. Northern Croatia
Northern Croatia or North Croatia ( hr, Sjeverna Hrvatska, ) refers to the northern parts of Croatia, encompassing Zagreb, Varaždin, Međimurje, Zagorje and Koprivnica-Križevci counties, including the cities of Zagreb, Varaždin, Čakovec, Krapina, Koprivnica and Križevci. The region is home to the Kajkavian dialect. The region borders Hungary to its north-east and Slovenia to its north-west. Status The term had not been used in official capacity until recently. Until 2012, the region's borders coincided with the NUTS-2 region ''Northwest Croatia'' (''Sjeverozapadna Hrvatska'' in Croatian). Zoran Milanović
Zoran Milanović (; born 30 October 1966) is a Croatian politician serving as President of Croatia since 19 February 2020. Prior to assuming the presidency, he was prime minister from 2011 to 2016 and president of the Social Democratic Party from 2007 to 2016. After graduating from the Zagreb Faculty of Law, Milanović started working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as Advisor at the Croatian mission to the European Union and NATO in Brussels from 1996 to 1999. During the same year he joined the Social Democratic Party. The University North ( hr, Sveučilište Sjever) is a public university in Croatia that operates in two university centres, Koprivnica and Varaždin. It is the fifth largest university in Croatia based on the number of students and the only public university operating in Northern Croatia alongside the University of Zagreb. The university was founded in 2015 by merging the University of Applied Sciences in Varaždin and the Media University in Koprivnica, thus becoming the eighth Croatian public university. Dragan Primorac
Dragan Primorac (born June 7, 1965) is a Croatian physician, geneticist and forensic scientist. He is the first recipient of the title "Global Penn State University Ambassador". Currently, he serves as the Chair of the International Affairs Committee of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and as President of the International Society for Applied Biological Sciences. He is a member of the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine Executive Committee (IC PerMEd) established by The European Commission. Zagreb Stock Exchange
The Zagreb Stock Exchange or ZSE ( hr, Zagrebačka burza ) is a stock exchange located in Zagreb, Croatia. It is Croatia's only stock exchange. The exchange trades shares of Croatian companies, as well as bonds and commercial bills. The ZSE was established in 1991 as the successor of "Zagreb Stock Exchange for the goods and values" which was co-founded by Samuel David Alexander in 1907. In March 2007 it incorporated VSE, forming a single Croatian capital market, leading in the region by market capitalization and trading volume. As of 31 December 2016, ZSE's total market capitalization was 232.4 billion kn (€30.8 billion). The exchange has pre-market sessions from 09:00 to 10:00 and normal trading sessions from 10:00 to 16:00 on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays declared by the exchange in advance.
