Hanshin Himba Stakes
The Hanshin Himba Stakes Japanese 阪神牝馬ステークス} is a Japanese Grade 2 flat horse race in Japan for Thoroughbreds fillies and mares of at least four years of age. It is run over a distance of 1400 metres at Hanshin Racecourse in April. The Hanshin Himba Stakes was first run in 1958. It was elevated to Grade 3 status in 1984 and has been run as a grade 2 race since 1998. The race was contested over a variety of distances before being run over 2000 metres from 1968 until 1995. The distance was reduced to 1600 metres in 1996 and to 1400 metres in 2006. The race returned to 1600 metres in 2016. Among the winners of the race have been Fine Motion, Admire Groove, Rhein Kraft, Curren Chan and Mikki Queen. Hanshin Racecourse
is located in Takarazuka, Hyogo, Japan. It has a capacity of 139,000 and it is used for horse racing. The land was originally owned by Kawanishi Aircraft Company, which manufactured combat planes during World War II. After the World War II, GHQ ordered the company to stop manufacturing combat planes, which ended in closing the factory. In 1949, Keihanshin Keiba K.K. built the Hanshin Racecourse. The racecourse was transferred to Japan Racing Association in 1955. A major reconstruction was completed in 1991, and another in 2006. Physical attributes Hanshin Racecourse has two turf courses, a dirt course, and a jump course. The turf's measures 2089m (1 miles + 254 feet), and the measures 1689m (1 mile + 261 feet). Rhein Kraft
Rhein Kraft (Japanese ラインクラフト, 4 April 2002–18 August 2006) was a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. She was one of the best juvenile fillies in Japan in 2004 when she won two of her three races including the Fantasy Stakes and ran third in the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies. She improved in the following year, winning the Fillies' Revue, Oka Sho and NHK Mile Cup as well as finishing second in the Shuka Sho and third in the Mile Championship. As a four-year-old she was narrowly beaten in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen and won the Hanshin Himba Stakes before dying of a heart attack in August 2006. Yuichi Fukunaga
is a Japanese jockey who has won 29 Grade 1 races in Japan and abroad. He is affiliated with the Japan Racing Association (JRA) in Rittō. His father is former jockey Yoichi Fukunaga who was said to be a "genius" during his active career, and his uncle is Takashi Kitamura, also a former jockey. His wife is former Fuji TV announcer Midori Matsuo. Since July 2016, he has a management contract with Horipro, the entertainment production in which his wife is also affiliated. On December 8, 2022, following his trainer license issue being issued by the JRA, Fukunaga announced that he would retire as a jockey at the end of February next year and make a transition in to becoming a horse trainer. (born March 15, 1969 in Kyoto, Kyoto) is a Japanese jockey. A legend in Japan, Yutaka Take made his riding debut in 1987 and currently holds seven all-time records in his native country. Take has won at least one Grade 1 races for 23 straight years until 2010 and a graded stakes race for 36 consecutive years. Take has also shown his abilities abroad. He has 114 wins to his credit in eight countries, including Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States. Mikki Queen
Mikki Queen ( ja, ミッキークイーン, link=no), foaled 8 February 2012, is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She showed promise as a juvenile in 2014 when she won the second of her two starts. In 2015 she took the JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Filly after winning both the Yushun Himba and the Shuka Sho as well as finishing second in the Daily Hai Queen Cup and the Rose Stakes. She failed to win in 2016 when she had injury problems but ran second in the Victoria Mile and third in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup. Curren Chan ( ja, カレンチャン, link=no, foaled 31 March 2007) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse who won two JRA Awards. After finishing second on her only start as a juvenile she won three minor races from five starts as a three-year-old in 2010. She emerged as a top-class sprinter in 2011 when she won five consecutive races including the Hanshin Himba Stakes, Hakodate Sprint Stakes, Keeneland Cup and the Sprinters Stakes and won the JRA Award for Best Sprinter or Miler. Admire Groove (in Japanese: アドマイヤグルーヴ, foaled April 30th, 2000) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2003 and 2004 Queen Elizabeth II Cup. Career Admire Groove's first race was on November 10th, 2002 at Kyoto, where she came in first. She then won her next two races after at Hashin Racecourse, which included a win at the Wakaba Stakes. Admire Groove's first major win was at the Grade-2 Rose Stakes on September 21st, 2003. She came close to capturing the October Shūka Sho just weeks later, but finished in 2nd.
