Rhein Kraft
Rhein Kraft (Japanese ラインクラフト, 4 April 2002–18 August 2006) was a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. She was one of the best juvenile fillies in Japan in 2004 when she won two of her three races including the Fantasy Stakes and ran third in the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies. She improved in the following year, winning the Fillies' Revue, Oka Sho and NHK Mile Cup as well as finishing second in the Shuka Sho and third in the Mile Championship. As a four-year-old she was narrowly beaten in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen and won the Hanshin Himba Stakes before dying of a heart attack in August 2006. Background Rhein Kraft was a dark bay mare with an irregular white blaze bred in Japan by Northern Farm. During her racing career she was trained by Tsutomo Setoguchi and raced in the pink and green colours of Shigemasa Osawa. She was ridden in most of her races by Yuichi Fukunaga. Operation End Sweep was a United States Navy and United States Marine Corps operation to remove naval mines from Haiphong harbor and other coastal and inland waterways in North Vietnam between February and July 1973. Graded Stakes Race
A graded stakes race is a thoroughbred horse race in the United States that meets the criteria of the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). A specific grade level (I, II, III or listed) is then assigned to the race, based on statistical analysis of the quality of the field in previous years, provided the race meets the minimum purse criteria for the grade in question. In Canada, a similar grading system is maintained by the Jockey Club of Canada. Graded stakes races are similar to Group races in Europe but the grading is more dynamic in North America. The grading system was designed in 1973 and first published in 1974. The original purpose of grading was to identify the most competitive races, which helps horsemen make comparisons of the relative quality of bloodstock for breeding and sales purposes. Hanshin Racecourse
is located in Takarazuka, Hyogo, Japan. It has a capacity of 139,000 and it is used for horse racing. Kyoto Racecourse
is located in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is used for horse racing. It has a capacity of 120,000. It was built in 1999. History Kyoto Race Course opened on December 1, 1925. In preparation for the track's 100th anniversary, Kyoto Race Course will be closed from November 2020 until the Spring of 2023 for grandstand renovations. The Tanabata Sho (Japanese 七夕賞) is a Grade 3 horse race for Thoroughbreds aged three and over, run in July over a distance of 2000 metres on turf at Fukushima Racecourse. It was first run in 1965 and has held Grade 3 status since 1984. The race was initially run over 1800 metres before being moved up to its current distance in 1980. The Keio Hai Nisai Stakes (Japanese 京王杯2歳ステークス) is a Japanese Grade 2 flat horse race in Japan for two-year-old Thoroughbreds. The Procyon Stakes (Japanese プロキオンステークス) is a Grade 3 horse race for Thoroughbreds aged three and over, run in July over a distance of 1400 metres on dirt at Chukyo Racecourse.
