Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle
Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle (sometimes shortened to Schleyer-Halle) is an indoor arena located in Stuttgart, Germany. The capacity of the arena is nearly 15,000 people. The venue was built in 1983 and is named for Hanns Martin Schleyer, a German former Schutzstaffel officer and employer representative, who was kidnapped and killed by the terrorist group Red Army Faction. It has a track made of wood. Sporting events The arena hosted the final phase of the 1985 European basketball championship. In tennis, the arena hosts some of the matches of Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, on a clay court designated as "Court 1". It also hosted the Stuttgart Masters when it was an ATP Super 9 event between 1996 and 2001. 2003 UCI Track Cycling World Championships
The 2003 UCI Track Cycling World Championships were the World Championship for track cycling. They took place at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Germany from July 30 to August 3, 2003. The championships were due to be held in Shenzhen, China, but were moved to Stuttgart following the 2003 SARS outbreak in China. One of Germany's best chances of earning a gold medal was the men's team pursuit, having broken the four-minute barrier at the 2000 Olympics. However, Erfurt coach Jens Lang and his cyclist Jens Lehmann disagreed with the national team selection, and threatened with not competing with Berlin riders Robert Bartko and Guido Fulst. 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in Stuttgart, Germany from October 4–13, 2019. The championships took place at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, and was the third time the city of Stuttgart hosted the event following the 1989 and 2007 editions, and the fifth time Germany hosted it. As of October 2, 92 federations registered gymnasts for the event with a total of 288 men and 259 women. Sam Mikulak of the United States and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos of France won the Longines Prize for Elegance. Both mark a first for their respective countries: de Jesus dos Santos is the first gymnast from France to win this prize, and Mikulak is the first male gymnast from the United States to win one. The Summer 2022 European Tour was a concert tour by English rock guitarist and singer Eric Clapton. The tour started on 7 May 2022 in London and ended on 17 June 2022 in Tampere. Clapton performed in nine different European countries, including Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The Devotional Tour was a 1993 concert tour by English electronic band Depeche Mode in support of the group's eighth studio album, ''Songs of Faith and Devotion'', which was released in March 1993. The group continued to promote ''Songs of Faith and Devotion'' the following year on the Exotic Tour/Summer Tour '94, which included an additional North American leg. '' Q'' magazine refers to Devotional Tour as "the most debauched rock tour ever". The Final World Tour (also referred to as The Farewell Tour) was the final concert tour by American thrash metal band Slayer, which began on May 10, 2018, and ended on November 30, 2019. Hans "Hanns" Martin Schleyer (; 1 May 1915 – 18 October 1977) was a German business executive, and employer and industry representative, who served as President of two powerful commercial organizations, the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (german: Bundesvereinigung der Deutschen Arbeitgeberverbände, BDA) and the Federation of German Industries (, BDI). Schleyer became a target for radical elements of the German student movement in the 1970s for his role in those business organisations, positions in the labour disputes, aggressive appearance on television, conservative anti-communist views, position as a prominent member of the Christian Democratic Union, and past as an enthusiastic member of the Nazi student movement and a former SS officer. Tour of the Universe was a 2009–2010 worldwide concert tour by English electronic band Depeche Mode in support of the group's 12th studio album, ''Sounds of the Universe'', which was released in April 2009.
