Haniff Hoosen
Mohammed Haniff Hoosen is a South African politician who has served as a Member for the National Assembly for the Independent Democrats (ID) (2007–2014) and currently for the Democratic Alliance (DA) (2014–present). Within the Official Opposition Shadow Cabinet, he serves as the DA's spokesperson on the Standing Committee on the Auditor-General. He was the Shadow Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from 2019 to 2020. Hoosen was also the Shadow Minister of Home Affairs from 2014 to 2019. Biography Hoosen was born in Chatsworth in the former Natal Province. He joined the National Party (NP), which became the New National Party (NNP). He was elected to the Durban city council in 1996 and served on the council until 2001. The New National Party (NNP) was a South African political party formed in 1997 as the successor to the National Party, which ruled the country from 1948 to 1994. The name change was an attempt to distance itself from its apartheid past, and reinvent itself as a moderate, mainstream conservative and non-racist federal party. The attempt was largely unsuccessful, and in 2005 the New National Party voted to disband itself. Mdumiseni Ntuli
Mdumiseni Ntuli (born March 1979) is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature from May 2016 to July 2018. He left the legislature to serve as Provincial Secretary of the ANC's KwaZulu-Natal branch, an office he held between 2018 and 2022. A former member of the ANC Youth League, Ntuli has been a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the KwaZulu-Natal ANC since 2015 and is the committee's former spokesman. Municipal elections were held in South Africa on 1 March 2006, to elect members to the local governing councils in the municipalities of South Africa.
