Hamois (; wa, Hamwè) is a Municipalities of Belgium, municipality of Wallonia located in the Namur Province, province of Namur, Belgium. The village is around south-east of the city of Namur. On 1 January 2020 the municipality had 7,375 inhabitants. The total area is 76.42 km2, giving a population density of 96.5 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Achet, Emptinne, Hamois, Mohiville, Natoye, Schaltin, and Scy. Mouffrin Castle in Gemenne and Ry Castle are both in Hamois, and continue to be in the possession of the noble Aspremont-Lynden, Aspremont-Lynden family. Multiple other castles, still owned and inhabited by other noble families, are spread all over the municipality. Aspremont-Lynden
The House of Aspremont-Lynden is the name of an important Belgian noble family, probably originated from the House of Lynden, which was part of the Dutch nobility. History The proven line starts with Thierry van Lynden (married 1520, died 1566), as the first mentioned member of this family. In 1676 and 1677 nobility decrees of Emperor Leopold I followed for descendants of this family, with the title of Count. Ferdinand d'Aspremont-Lynden was the reigning Count of Reckheim and had the Aspremont-Lynden Castle constructed. Ciney (; wa, Cînè) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. As of 2018, Ciney had a total population of 16,439. The total area is 147.56 km² which gives a population density of 111 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Faulx-les-Tombes, Gesves, Haltinne, Mozet, and Sorée. Champignac, or specifically Champignac-en-Cambrousse, is a fictional village frequently featured in the adventures of ''Spirou et Fantasio'' by André Franquin and the successive authors. The initial idea of Champignac is attributed to Henri Gillain. The village was introduced in the adventure ''Il y a un sorcier à Champignac'', first published in '' Spirou'' magazine in 1950. André Franquin
André Franquin (; 3 January 1924 – 5 January 1997) was an influential Belgian comics artist, whose best-known creations are '' Gaston'' and ''Marsupilami''. He also produced the ''Spirou et Fantasio'' comic strip from 1946 to 1968, a period seen by many as the series' golden age. Spirou (, ; ; Walloon for "squirrel", "mischievous"; nl, Robbedoes, link=no) is a Belgian comic strip character and protagonist in the comic strip series ''Spirou & Fantasio'' and ''Le Petit Spirou'', and the eponymous character of the Belgian comic strip magazine '' Spirou''. History The character was originally created by Robert Velter (Rob-Vel) for the launch of ' ('' Spirou'' magazine) in 1938. ''Spirou'' was originally an elevator operator and bell-boy at the fictional Moustique Hotel. At some point he became a reporter for the eponymous magazine, though he remained dressed in his trademark red uniform.
