Hamisa Hassan Mobetto (born December 10, 1994), is a Tanzanian singer, actress, businesswoman and socialite. Early life and education She was born in Mwanza, Tanzania on the 10th December 1994 to a Muslim family and was passionate about music as a child. She pursued her career in music after completing high school. Career Model In 2011, she participated for the Miss Indian Ocean 2011 beauty pageant, she emerged as 2nd runner up. That same year, she also emerged second which made her compete for Miss Tanzania 2011. In 2012, she participated in Miss University Africa and succeeded among the top 10. Miss University Africa
Miss University Africa (MUA) is an annual international beauty pageant organized by Visions, Innovations and Concepts. The pageant was first held in 2010. Unlike Miss America and Miss Earth pageants, Miss University Africa contestants are not required to compete in swimsuits or bikinis. Founded by businessman Taylor Nazzal, the competition has 54 contestants who represent 54 countries in Africa, and the winner of the pageant receives US$50,000 in endorsement deals, a new car and becomes a United Nations Students' Ambassador. Miss Tanzania
Miss Tanzania is a national Beauty pageant in Tanzania. History Miss Tanzania started in the 1967 and the participants for the most part were from Dar es Salaam, the winners were however not sent to compete internationally. In 1968, the government banned beauty contests in the country after advice from the ruling political party's youth league citing it was not consistent with Tanzanian culture. In 1994 when beauty contests were allowed, the country had its first Miss Tanzania who competed in the Miss World.
