Halifax Clayton Park
Clayton Park West is a provincial electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada, that elects one member of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. The riding was created in 1978 as Halifax Bedford Basin from a portion of Halifax Cobequid. In 2003, the district lost a northern area to Bedford and was renamed Halifax Clayton Park. Following the 2012 electoral boundary review, the district was renamed Clayton Park West. It gained Birch Cove and Kearney Lake areas from Bedford-Birch Cove and the Kearney Lake area from Hammonds Plains-Upper Sackville. It lost the Susies Lake and Quarrie Lake areas to Timberlea-Prospect; the areas south of Mount Saint Vincent University and Lacewood Drive as well as the Washmill Lake Drive area the Fairview-Clayton Park. Rafah DiCostanzo
Rafah DiCostanzo (born May 2, 1962) is a Canadian politician. She was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in the 2017 provincial election. Early life and education DiCostanzo was born in Baghdad, Iraq. She moved to Great Britain as a teenager and arrived in Canada in 1984. She graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1988 with a bachelor of arts in modern languages. She has been an Arabic interpreter with Nova Scotia Interpreting Services since 1990. Personal life DiCostanzo is married to John DiCostanzo, a lawyer. Dicostanzo has lived in Clayton Park West for over 33 years. Joel Matheson
Joel Rand Matheson (born February 18, 1930) is a former lawyer, business owner and political figure in Nova Scotia. He represented Halifax Bedford Basin in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1978 to 1993 as a Progressive Conservative. Early life and education He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the son of Rand Matheson, and was educated in Moncton, New Brunswick, at St. Francis Xavier University and finally graduating with an LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1954. Gerald "Gerry" Fogarty is a former sportscaster and politician. He was the last Speaker of the House of Assembly of Nova Scotia to be appointed by the Premier rather than elected by his peers. Before politics Fogarty was a Halifax, Nova Scotia based sportscaster for the CBC Radio in the 1970s and 1980s and was known nationally for his on-air role during international hockey broadcasts carried on CBC.
