Hadsund Municipality
Hadsund Municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in North Jutland County on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark until 1 January 2007 the municipality covered an area of 170.28 km², and had a total population of 10,914 (2004). Its last mayor was Karl Christensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The largest city and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hadsund. On 1 January 2007 Hadsund Municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with former Arden and Hobro municipalities, and parts of Mariager, Aalestrup and Nørager municipalities to form the new Mariagerfjord Municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 723.63 km² and a total population of 43,049 (2005). North Jutland County
North Jutland County ( da, Nordjyllands Amt) is a former county (Danish: ''amt'') in northern Denmark. It was located on the eastern half of Vendsyssel-Thy and the northernmost part of the Jutland peninsula. It was the largest county in Denmark, but with a relatively low population. The county seat was Aalborg, Denmark's fourth largest city. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into North Denmark Region ( da, Region Nordjylland). Social Democrats (Denmark)
The Social Democrats ( da, Socialdemokraterne, ) is a social democratic political party in Denmark. A member of the Party of European Socialists (PES), the Social Democrats have 50 out of 179 members of the Danish parliament (following the latest Danish general election held in 2022), Folketing, and three out of fourteen MEPs elected from Denmark. Founded by Louis Pio in 1871, the party first entered the Folketing in the 1884 Danish Folketing election. By the early 20th century, it had become the party with the largest representation in the Folketing, a distinction it would hold for 77 years. Arden Municipality
Arden municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in North Jutland County on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark until 1 January 2007. The municipality covered an area of 228 km2, and had a total population of 8,513 (2005). Its last mayor was Hans Christian Maarup, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Arden. Hobro
Hobro () is an old market and railway town in Region Nordjylland on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. It has a population of 12,071 (1 January 2022). The town is situated in a hilly terrain at the head of Mariager Fjord, close to the former Viking fortress of Fyrkat. It is the seat of Mariagerfjord municipality. Politics Hobro was until 1 January 2007 also a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in North Jutland County covering an area of 166 km² and with a total population of 15,318 (2005). Until 1 January 2007 Mariager municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Aarhus County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 201 km², and had a total population of 8,300 (2005). Its last mayor was Erik Kirkegaard Mikkelsen, a member of the Conservative People's Party (''Det Konservative Folkeparti'') political party. Before the ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007), Aalestrup municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Viborg County on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 176 km2, and had a total population of 7,631 (2005). Its latest mayor was Rigmor Sandborg. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Aalestrup.
