High-pass Filter
A high-pass filter (HPF) is an electronic filter that passes signals with a frequency higher than a certain cutoff frequency and attenuates signals with frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency. The amount of attenuation for each frequency depends on the filter design. A high-pass filter is usually modeled as a linear time-invariant system. It is sometimes called a low-cut filter or bass-cut filter in the context of audio engineering. High-pass filters have many uses, such as blocking DC from circuitry sensitive to non-zero average voltages or radio frequency devices. They can also be used in conjunction with a low-pass filter to produce a bandpass filter. In the optical domain filters are often characterised by wavelength rather than frequency. High-pass and low-pass have the opposite meanings, with a "high-pass" filter (more commonly "long-pass") passing only ''longer'' wavelengths (lower frequencies), and vice versa for "low-pass" (more commonly "short-pass"). High Performance Fortran
High Performance Fortran (HPF) is an extension of Fortran 90 with constructs that support parallel computing, published by the ''High Performance Fortran Forum'' (HPFF). The HPFF was convened and chaired by Ken Kennedy of Rice University. The first version of the HPF Report was published in 1993. Building on the array syntax introduced in Fortran 90, HPF uses a data parallel model of computation to support spreading the work of a single array computation over multiple processors. This allows efficient implementation on both SIMD and MIMD style architectures. HPF features included: * New Fortran statements, such as FORALL, and the ability to create PURE (side effect free) procedures * Compiler directives for recommended distributions of array data * ''Extrinsic procedure'' interface for interfacing to non-HPF parallel procedures such as those using message passing * Additional library routines - including environmental inquiry, parallel prefix/suffix (e.g., 'scan'), data scat ...

High-power Field
A high-power field (HPF), when used in relation to microscopy, references the field of view under the maximum magnification power of the objective being used. Often, this represents a 400-fold magnification when referenced in scientific papers. Area Area per high-power field for some microscope types: *Olympus BX50, BX40 or BH2 or AO: 0.096 mm2 *AO with 10x eyepiece: 0.12 mm2 *Olympus with 10x eyepiece: 0.16 mm2 *Nikon Eclipse E400 with 10x eyepiece and 40x objective: 0.25mm2 *Leitz Ortholux: 0.27 mm2 *Leitz Diaplan: 0.31 mm2 Examples of usage The area provides a reference unit, for example in reference ranges for urine tests.Normal Reference Range Table

Hindustan Photo Films
Hindustan Photo Films Manufacturing Company Limited (HPF) was an Indian-based public sector manufacturer of photographic films, cine films, X-ray films, graphic arts films, photographic paper, and chemistry. It was incorporated in 1960 It is based at Udhagamandalam, a hill station in Tamil Nadu. Their photographic films were sold under the name "Indu", which means "silver" in Sanskrit (silver halides are used in film). Hindustan Photo Films Ltd, which employed over 714 employees as of 31 March 2012, was declared bankrupt by the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction in 1996. In March 2013, a Rs 181 crore VRS package for employees of the ailing PSU Hindustan Photo Films based on notional pay scales of 2007. Its losses have mounted, from Rs 2,132,950,000,000 in 2014-15 to Rs 2,885,750,000,000 in 2016-17. After the decision of the Madras High Court The Madras High Court is a High Court in India. It has appellate jurisdiction over the state of Tamil Nadu and the union ...

Historic Preservation Fund
The Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) provides financial support for historic preservation projects throughout the United States. The fund is administered by the National Park Service (NPS), pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA). The fund provides state historic preservation agencies with matching funds to implement the act. Background Congress envisioned that the NHPA would provide a funding source for states with matching funds to implement the act. The act was to be implemented through partnerships with states, Indian Tribes, Native Hawaiians, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector. It brought forth state programs to implement much of the act; a National Register of Historic Places encompassing a wide range of sites and structures deemed historic; partnerships at all levels of government; incentives; assistance; and reviews. The NHPA endorsed the use of federal financial support for the national preservation program and c ...
