H. D. Premaratne
H.D. Premaratne (born 1944) was educated at Gurukula Vidyalaya in Kelaniya. He started his film career as a clapper boy in ''Daru Duka'' in 1967. While working at the old Times of Ceylon group, he was an Assistant Director for ''Pujithayo'' before embarking on his maiden directorial venture ''Sikuruliya'' starring Vijaya Kumaranatunga Kovilage Anton Vijaya Kumaranatunga ( si, කොවිලගේ ඇන්ටන් විජය කුමාරණතුංග; ta, விஜய_குமாரணதுங்க; 9 October 1945 – 16 February 1988), popularly known as Vijaya ... and Swineetha Weerasinghe in 1975. It was released on the international circuit in 1993 and later released in Sri Lanka in 1995. Plot Bande ( Cyril Wickramage) and wife Siriya ( Anoja Weerasinghe) live in a village north of Colombo. They are tenant farmers, reliant on the stability of their landlord. Concurrent with the tenant farming and small businesses in the village, the hunter (Daya Tennekoon), Bande and Siriya's neighbor, grows cannabis in the nearby forest. The film stars Kamal Addararachchi and Sangeetha Weeraratne in the leading roles. Udu Sulanga
The udu is a plosive aerophone (in this case implosive) and an idiophone of the Igbo of Nigeria. In the Igbo language, ''ùdù'' means 'vessel'. Actually being a water jug with an additional hole, it was played by Igbo women for ceremonial uses. Usually the udu is made of clay. The instrument is played by hand. The player produces a bass sound by quickly hitting the big hole. There are many ways that the pitches can be changed, depending on how the hand above the small upper hole is positioned. Furthermore, the whole corpus can be played by fingers. Today it is widely used by percussionists in different music styles. Kelaniya
Kelaniya ( si, කැලණිය ta, களனி) is a suburb of Colombo in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is known for the Buddhist temple built on the banks of the Kelani River, which divides the suburb from Colombo District. The temple is also a religious centre for veneration of the figures Vibhishana and Avalokiteshvara.
