Seilama
''Seilama'' ( en, The City) is a Sri Lankan drama film directed by H. D. Premaratne and produced by Soma Edirisinghe for EAP Films. It was released on the international circuit in 1993 and later released in Sri Lanka in 1995. Plot Bande ( Cyril Wickramage) and wife Siriya ( Anoja Weerasinghe) live in a village north of Colombo. They are tenant farmers, reliant on the stability of their landlord. Concurrent with the tenant farming and small businesses in the village, the hunter (Daya Tennekoon), Bande and Siriya's neighbor, grows cannabis in the nearby forest. The landlord rejects a continuation of the lease, encouraging Bande to go to the city to talk to a government agency representative to understand the legality of this action. Daya Thennakoon
Daya Bandara Tennakoon (born 29 November 1941 – died 17 April 2020 as දයා තෙන්නකෝන්) inhala, was an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. Personal life He was born on 29 November 1941 in the small village Galabadawatta, in Rangala, Kandy. He started primary education from Galabadawatta Primary School and then completed secondary education from Dharmaraja College, Kandy. His father was a tea estate keeper. After school times, he was selected to the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya and graduated with an arts degree. He was married to fellow actress Grace Ariyavwimal. He met Grace during the 1965 stage play ''Manaranjana Wedawarjana'' produced by Henry Jayasena. Liyanage Boniface Walter Perera (born 5 June 1945), popularly known by his stage name Ravindra Randeniya, is a Sri Lankan actor and former politician. Soma Edirisinghe ( si, සෝමා එදිරිසිංහ; 5 July 1939 – 5 November 2015) was a Sri Lankan corporate executive, film producer, philanthropist and social worker. She was born in Meegoda, Sri Lanka on 5 July 1939 to a family of nine daughters, and died on 5 November 2015 at a private hospital in Colombo. Simon Navagattegama lso spelled Nawagattegama (September 15, 1940 – October 9, 2005) was a Sinhala novelist, Sinhala Radio Play writer, playwright and actor. He is well known for his novel Sansararanye Dhadayakkaraya (Hunter in the wilderness of the Sansara) for its magical realism which is influenced by Buddhist mythologies, Mahayana Buddhist concepts and Freudian and Jungian psychoanalysis. Literary style K. K. Saman Kumara, a literary critic and writer in Sri Lanka, calls Simon as the predecessor of magical realism in Sri Lanka and calls his literary style as a Buddhist Borgesian one. Andrew Jayamanne ඇන්ඩෘ ජයමාන්න (alternative spelling Andrew Jayamanna, 9 November 1943 – 29 August 2014) was a Sri Lankan cinematographer, and film and television director and producer. Early life Jayamanne is the eldest of ten children born to Vincent Jayamanne and his wife Beatrice Perera. He was raised in Periyamulla in Negombo, the town on the Western sea-coast where his father was born. Jayamanne did his elementary studies at St. Anthony's boys' School, Dalupotha, Negombo.
