Guernsey Cricket Team
The Guernsey cricket team is the team that represents the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a Crown dependency in international cricket. They became a member in 2005 and an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2008. History 2018–present In April 2018, the ICC decided to grant full Twenty20 International (T20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between Guernsey and other ICC members after 1 January 2019 will be a full T20I. Guernsey played their first T20I against Jersey on 31 May 2019. International competition Guernsey has a long rivalry with the neighbouring Channel Island of Jersey, playing an annual encounter against each other known as the inter-insular match since 1950. The Guernsey Cricket Board (GCB), previously known as the Guernsey Cricket Association, is the cricket governing body for the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. History It was founded in 1927, and later joined the England and Wales Cricket Board so the Guernsey cricket team could play in the 38 Counties competition. Bermuda National Cricket Team
The Bermuda national cricket team represents the British overseas territory of Bermuda in international cricket. The team is organised by the Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB), which became an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1966. A Bermudian national team was first organised in 1891, when a tour of New York City arranged. In the years before World War I, Bermuda and American teams (including the Philadelphians) frequently exchanged tours, although it was not until 1912, when Australia toured, that the national team played a full international. After the 1920s, the focus of Bermudian cricket moved away from the United States towards the countries of the West Indies, although frequent tours from West Indian teams began only in the 1950s. Norway National Cricket Team
The Norway national cricket team is the team that represents Norway in international cricket matches. The Norwegian Cricket Board became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2000, and the national side played its first international match later that year. The European Cricket Championship was a group of various tournaments in which national cricket sides throughout Europe competed. The competition was designed to encourage and develop the best players in countries where cricket was not a major sport and Europe's only Test cricket playing country at the time, England did not enter a full-strength side. Inter-insular Match
Inter-Insular cricket refers to cricket contests between representative teams of Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands. An inter-insular match has been played annually between the two sides since 1950 and often attracts crowds above 1,000. It is often referred as ‘reds vs greens’ contest. The format has varied over the years but has been played as a 50-over contest in recent times and a Women’s Inter-Insular match was first played in 2009. In 2018, the format switched to a series of Twenty20 matches, although the traditional 50-over match returned from 2019 in addition to the Twenty20 series. The Twenty20 matches have had Twenty20 International status since 2019, as the International Cricket Council granted T20I status to all of its members from the start of the year. Channel Islands
The Channel Islands ( nrf, Îles d'la Manche; french: îles Anglo-Normandes or ''îles de la Manche'') are an archipelago in the English Channel, off the French coast of Normandy. They include two Crown Dependencies: the Bailiwick of Jersey, which is the largest of the islands; and the Bailiwick of Guernsey, consisting of Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, Herm and some smaller islands. Dominic Blampied (born 10 July 1996) is a cricketer who plays for Jersey. In May 2019, he was named in Jersey's squad for the 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup against Guernsey. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Jersey against Guernsey on 31 May 2019. Blampied was named the player of the series after scoring 92 runs and taking 6 wickets.
