2001 ICC Trophy
The 2001 ICC Trophy was a cricket tournament played in Ontario, Canada in 2001. It was the Cricket World Cup qualification tournament for the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Three spots in the World Cup were on offer and the Netherlands, host nation Canada and for the first time, Namibia all qualified. Scotland failed to qualify losing in the 3rd place play off and finishing fourth. The Netherlands won the final against Namibia. Bangladesh had, by then, been promoted to full Test and ODI status, and so did not take part in this competition, and Kenya had gained full ODI status also didn't take part, and as a result both countries qualified for the 2003 Cricket World Cup automatically. Melt Van Schoor
Melt van Schoor (born 8 December 1967) is a South Africa-born Namibian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a wicketkeeper. He played in the ICC Trophy between 1994 and 2001, and has played List A cricket since then. He also played five One Day Internationals in the World Cup in 2003. Van Schoor generally occupies the lower order, but performs well in this position. Melt van Schoor is the brother of fellow cricketer Ian van Schoor. Gregor Maiden
Gregor Ian Maiden (born 22 July 1979) is a Scottish cricketer who has played first-class, One-Day International and List A cricket for Scotland. He has also played List A and T20 cricket for Lancashire. Maiden was born in Glasgow and attended Hutchesons' Grammar School, before going on to study at Loughborough University along with fellow Scotland cricketers Fraser Watts and Simon Smith. After three years, he graduated with a 2.1 honours degree in Sports Science. Joseph Harris (cricketer)
Joseph Vikram Harris (born 16 August 1965) is an Indian-born Canadian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-hand offbreak bowler. Having played cricket since the mid-eighties, including a handful of matches for Barbados he became the leader of the Canadian cricket team in 2003, captaining them into the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Keith Sheridan
Keith Sheridan (born 26 March 1971 in Glasgow) is a Scottish cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm slow bowler. He has the distinction of being one of the youngest ever players for the Scottish cricket team. He has played 82 times for Scotland, including four first-class and nine List A matches. He was not selected for the Scotland squad at the 1999 Cricket World Cup, but did play for them in the cricket tournament at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. Maple Leaf Cricket Club
The Maple Leaf Cricket Club is a cricket club in King City, Ontario, Canada, about 30 kilometres north of Toronto, Ontario. It was established in 1954 and operates a turf wicket facility. In 2006, it became the second ground in Canada to be approved to host One Day Internationals (ODI) by the International Cricket Council. The facility has 5 cricket grounds. The North-West ground is the most important, and ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals have been played at this ground since the 2008 season. Colin John Ogilvie Smith (born 27 September 1972) is a Scottish cricket player. He is a right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper.
