Ground Zero (television Show)
''Ground Zero'' was a late night Australian music television program on Network Ten that featured music videos and live appearances. The program was written and produced by James Mark Anthony who also negotiated sponsorship with major brands that allowed the program to be produced free of charge to Network Ten. The program aired from 1997 to 2001 and was initially directed by Bernie Zelvis and was hosted by Jade Gatt (who was dropped from the show in controversial circumstances).Ugly Phil and Jackie O (radio hosts) replaced Jade Gatt, Ugly Phil and Jackie O. By 1999 the program was no longer filmed in a studio and was instead shot on various locations across Sydney and Melbourne. Bernie Zelvis
Bernie Zelvis is an Australian film and television director, best known for his work in youth and music television. He also provides teaching services at Sydney TAFE. Television Bernie started his directing career in Perth with Kids Co. & The Buzz, and then moved to Sydney to direct Cheez TV and the Ground Zero (television show) for Channel Ten. Working for Channel V Australia, he directed iconic programs such as The Joint, Room 208, whatUwant and The Bus. Ugly Phil O'Neil (born Phillip Surridge on 14 March 1963) is a radio DJ/announcer. He was born in the United Kingdom, and lived the majority of his life in Australia. Before adopting the on-air name of Ugly Phil he was known on-air as Phil O'Neil. Phil has hosted the Hot30 Countdown, Drive at Nova 969, and Evenings at Triple M several times.
