Golgol Mebrahtu
Golgol Mebrahtu (born 28 August 1990) is an Eritrean-Australian professional football player who plays as a forward. Early life Mebrahtu is of Eritrean origin. Born in the capital of the African country of Sudan, Mebrahtu moved to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia aged nine as a refugee during the Eritrean–Ethiopian War in 1999. Club career Gold Coast United In June 2009, Mebrahtu signed a 3-year contract with Gold Coast United, after a successful trial at the club in April. He was discovered by Gold Coast coach Miron Bleiberg, while he was waiting for a helicopter to take him from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. 2014 AFC Champions League
The 2014 AFC Champions League was the 33rd edition of the top-level Asian club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 12th under the current AFC Champions League title. Guangzhou Evergrande were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Western Sydney Wanderers in the quarter-finals. Daniel Mullen
Daniel John Mullen (born 26 October 1989) is an Australian soccer player who last played for Wellington Phoenix. He played as a centre back and a right back. Daniel is the cousin of Matthew Mullen and son of Joe Mullen, a former Socceroo. Club career Adelaide United Mullen joined United for the 2008–09 A-League season. On 26 July 2008 he made his debut for Adelaide United in a 0–0 against Newcastle Jets in the Pre-Season Cup. He has since gone on to win a place in the team in the league and also featured against Kashima Antlers in the AFC Champions League. Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia. 2012–13 A-League
The 2012–13 A-League was the 36th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the eighth season of the Australian A-League since its establishment in 2004. The 2012–13 season saw the introduction of a new Western Sydney-based team, the return of Newcastle Jets FC after their A-League licence was returned by FFA, and the end of Gold Coast United after they were removed from the competition at the end of the previous season. The Sunshine Coast Daily is an online newspaper specifically serving the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, Australia. It is owned by News Corp Australia. It was originally founded as a print newspaper, however since 2020 the publication is only available in digital forms. Eritrean–Ethiopian War
The Eritrean–Ethiopian War, also known as the Badme War, was a major armed conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea that took place from May 1998 to June 2000. The war has its origins in a territorial dispute between the two states. After Eritrea gained independence from Ethiopia, relations were initially friendly. However, disagreements about where the newly created international border should be caused relations to deteriorate significantly, eventually leading to full scale war. According to a 2005 ruling by an international commission, Eritrea broke international law and triggered the war by invading Ethiopia. By 2000, Ethiopia held all of the disputed territory and had advanced into Eritrea.
