Godavarikhani is a neighbourhood of Ramagundam city in the Indian state of Telangana. It is also called as the Coal City and City of Black Gold. The name of the city was coined by Geetla Janardhan Reddy as it is situated on the banks of the Godavari River and Khani which refers to mines/minerals as the city is known for its rich coal mines. It is a part of Ramagundam Municipal Corporation, located on the banks of Godavari River in Peddapalli district. Ramagundam
Ramagundam is a city and municipal corporation in Peddapalli district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is the most populous city in the district and falls under the Peddapalli revenue division. It is located on the banks of the Godavari River. As of the 2011 census, the city had a population of 229,644, making it the 6th most populous in the state, and an urban agglomeration population of 242,979. Godavari River
The Godavari (IAST: ''Godāvarī'' od̪aːʋəɾiː is India's second longest river after the Ganga river and drains into the third largest basin in India, covering about 10% of India's total geographical area. Census Of India
The decennial Census of India has been conducted 16 times, as of 2021. While it has been undertaken every 10 years, beginning in 1872 under British Viceroy Lord Mayo, the first complete census was taken in 1881.
