Gluaiseacht
Gluaiseacht for Global Justice is an Irish environmental, peace and social justice group. ''Gluaiseacht'' () means "movement" in the Irish language. The group believes in non-violent resistance to the current form of capitalist globalisation. It was originally a network of Ecological and One World Societies at universities and colleges throughout Ireland. It is a member of the Irish Environmental Network. Gluaiseacht has been involved in anti-nuclear protests at the Trident submarine base in Faslane, Scotland, and the Sellafield nuclear plant. Irish Environmental Network
The Irish Environmental Network (IEN) is a network of environmental Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) that was established in 2002. The network is designed to give greater reach and access to funding for disparate and sometimes small member organisations. The IEN also has the Environmental Pillar which acts as a lobbying group with many of the same NGOs in order to present their concerns to government and policy matters at all levels, national, regional and local. The IEN has also coordinated a photography awards scheme, and manages the Green News website which covers a range of environmental news stories in Ireland and abroad. Sellafield
Sellafield is a large multi-function nuclear site close to Seascale on the coast of Cumbria, England. As of August 2022, primary activities are nuclear waste processing and storage and nuclear decommissioning. Former activities included nuclear power generation from 1956 to 2003, and nuclear fuel reprocessing from 1952 to 2022. Reprocessing ceased on 17 July 2022, when the Magnox Reprocessing Plant completed its last batch of fuel after 58 years of operation. The licensed site covers an area of , and comprises more than 200 nuclear facilities and more than 1,000 buildings. It is Europe's largest nuclear site and has the most diverse range of nuclear facilities in the world situated on a single site. European Youth For Action
European Youth For Action (EYFA) is an environmental youth network in Europe. It is based in Amsterdam and has partner organizations in 18 European countries. History EYFA started in 1985 as the European Youth Forest Action; a campaign organised by Youth and Environment Europe with then still an office in Denmark. YEE employed the German Petra Keppler for a while as she held office in Amsterdam. After the first bustour Amsterdam-Budapest EYFA was split off to an independent youth organisation and moved to Sittard. The fundraising for Budapest was done by the Dutch Ed Romeijn as the (East-West) exchange-officer of YEE. The then Belgian chairwoman of YEE Adelheid Byttebier is nowadays elderman in Brussels for the Greens.
