Girolamo Bonini (active 1660, died 1680) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, active mainly in Bologna. Also known as ''L'Aconitano'' due to his natal city of Ancona. He was the pupil of the painter Francesco Albani. Bonini was part of a team, including Lorenzo Pasinelli, Luigi Scaramuccia Luigi Pellegrini Scaramuccia (1616–1680) was an Italian painter and artist biographer of the Baroque period. The Baroque (, ; ) is a style of architecture, music, dance, painting, sculpture, poetry, and other arts that flourished in Europe from the early 17th century until the 1750s. In the territories of the Spanish and Portuguese empires including the Iberian Peninsula it continued, together with new styles, until the first decade of the 19th century. Francesco Albani
Francesco Albani or Albano (17 March or 17 August 1578 – 4 October 1660) was an Italian Baroque painter who was active in Bologna (1591–1600), Rome (1600–1609), Bologna (1609), Viterbo (1609–1610), Bologna (1610), Rome (1610–1617), Bologna (1618–1660), Mantova (1621–1622), Roma (1623–1625) and Florence (1633). Early years in Bologna Albani was born in Bologna, Italy in 1578. His father was a silk merchant who intended his son to go into his own trade. Lorenzo Pasinelli
Lorenzo Pasinelli (September 4, 1629 – March 4, 1700) was an Italian painter active mainly in Bologna during the late Baroque period. He was born in Bologna, and initially trained in the studio of Simone Cantarini. He then pursued studies in Rome. Despite that training, his works have an air of Mannerism. In an overview of two major Bolognese painters circa 1700, one author describes that Pasinelli: ''Lorenzo liked the design of Raphael joined with the charm of Paolo Veronese; while Carlo (Cignani) liked the grace of Correggio united to the erudition of Annibale (Carracci) ... while Pisanelli did not attain a fullness of correct design, which (Veronese) had advanced ... no one will fail to recognize in Pisanelli large picturesque fire and great new ideas, but sometimes is a tad forced in his movements, and using new and bizarre clothes''. Luigi Scaramuccia
Luigi Pellegrini Scaramuccia (1616–1680) was an Italian painter and artist biographer of the Baroque period. He was a pupil, along with Giovanni Domenico Cerrini of the painter Guido Reni. Born in Perugia to the painter Giovanni Antonio Scaramuccia, he left paintings throughout the peninsula, including Rome, Bologna, and Milan. He is more highly regarded as a biographer or historian than the former. His book ''Le finezze de' pennelli italiani'' was one of the earliest compilations of biographies that included baroque artists from Bologna and Milan (published in 1674 in Pavia). Written as a pseudonymous account of travels through Italy, he appears to plagiarize extensively from prior biographers, including Raphaël Trichet du Fresne in his introduction to Leonardo’s treatise in 1651. Giovanni Maria Galli (1625–1665), called Giovanni Maria da Bibiena, was an Italian painter, born at Bibiena in 1625. He studied under Albani, and his productions have often been mistaken for those of his master. He died in 1665. Carlo Cignani
Carlo Cignani (15 May 1628 – 8 September 1719) was an Italian painter. His innovative style referred to as his 'new manner' introduced a reflective, intimate mood of painting and presaged the later pictures of Guido Reni and Guercino, as well as those of Simone Cantarini. This gentle manner marked a break with the more energetic style of earlier Bolognese classicism of the Bolognese School of painting.
