The Zipser German Party (german: Zipser deutsche Partei) was a party of the First Czechoslovak Republic founded at Kežmarok on 20–22 March 1920 aiming for the representation of the Zipser Germans minority in Czechoslovakia. First Czechoslovak Republic
The First Czechoslovak Republic ( cs, První československá republika, sk, Prvá česko-slovenská republika), often colloquially referred to as the First Republic ( cs, První republika, Slovak: ''Prvá republika''), was the first Czechoslovak state that existed from 1918 to 1938, a union of ethnic Czechs and Slovaks. The country was commonly called Czechoslovakia (Czech and sk, Československo), a compound of ''Czech'' and ''Slovak''; which gradually became the most widely used name for its successor states. Kežmarok
Kežmarok (german: Kesmark or ; hu, Késmárk, yi, קעזמאַרק, Kezmark, pl, Kieżmark) is a town in the Spiš region of eastern Slovakia (population 16,000), on the Poprad River. Prior to World War I, it was in Szepes county in the Kingdom of Hungary. History Settlement at Kežmarok dates back to the Upper Stone Age. In the 13th century the region contained a community of Saxons, a Slovak fishing village, a Hungarian border post and a Carpathian German settlement. Its Latin name was first mentioned in 1251 as ''Villa (Saxonum apud Ecclesiam) Sancte Elisabeth''. In 1269 Kežmarok received its town charter. It also had the right to organize a cheese market (hence the German name ''Kesmark'' ("Käsemarkt" - "cheese market"). In 1433 the town was severely damaged by a Hussite raid. German National Party
The German Nationalist Party (german: Deutsche Nationalpartei, DNP, cs, Německá národní strana) was a First Republic political party in Czechoslovakia, representing the German population of Sudetenland. Its chairman and political face was Rudolf Lodgman von Auen. In elections, the DNP worked together with the German National Socialist Workers' Party (DNSAP). Both parties were outlawed in 1933. A faction of the DNP then entered the '' Sudetendeutsche Heimatfront'' of Konrad Henlein. The Provincial Christian-Socialist Party ( hu, Országos Keresztényszocialista Párt, OKszP; cs, Zemská křesťansko-socialistická strana; german: Provinziell-Christlich-Sozialistische Partei) was the main political party of ethnic Hungarians in the First Czechoslovak Republic. It was founded on 23 November 1919 in Košice, by the merger of Catholic associations from Bratislava and Košice, but the first party convention took place in Bratislava in March 1920. Hungarian-German Social Democratic Party
The Hungarian-German Social Democratic Party (german: Ungarisch-Deutsche Partei der Sozialdemokraten, hu, Magyar és Német Szociál-Demokrata Párt) was a social democratic political party in Slovakia (part of Czechoslovakia at the time). It was founded in 1919 by social democrats from ethnic minority communities. The party had a German and a Hungarian section. The German and Hungarian social democrats in Slovakia had developed an antagonistic relationship with the Slovak social democrats, who had merged into the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Workers Party as Austria-Hungary was broken up after the First World War.
