Geoffrey Hayes
Charles Geoffrey Hayes (13 March 1942 – 30 September 2018) was an English television presenter and actor. He presented Thames Television's children's show ''Rainbow'' from 1972 to 1992. Early life and education Hayes had various jobs such as a British Rail booking clerk before attending drama school in Manchester and training as an actor. Hayes' most prominent role was the presenter of Thames Television's children's show ''Rainbow'' from 1973 to 1992, replacing original host David Cook. Before this, he worked as an actor, including a recurring role in BBC1's police drama ''Z-Cars''. Hayes also has writing credits for ''Rainbow'' and ''The Great Pony Raid'' in 1967. Career Hayes struggled to find work after ''Rainbow'' was cancelled by ITV when the production company, Thames Television, lost its franchise in 1991. Stockport
Stockport is a town and borough in Greater Manchester, England, south-east of Manchester, south-west of Ashton-under-Lyne and north of Macclesfield. Sally James (born Sally Cann, 10 May 1950) is a former presenter on the ITV Saturday morning children's show ''Tiswas'' from 1977 until it ended in 1982. James's role on the show included conducting the "Almost Legendary Pop Interviews", interviewing musical acts including Elvis Costello, Sting, The Clash, Motörhead, and Kate Bush, and serving as music editor. ''Tiswas'' (; an acronym of "Today Is Saturday: Watch And Smile") was a British children's television series that originally aired on Saturday mornings from 5 January 1974 to 3 April 1982, and was produced for the ITV network by ATV. Bungle (Rainbow)
Bungle is a character in the British children's television series ''Rainbow''. He is a large brown furry bear and is played by various actors, but chiefly Stanley Bates. Bungle is inquisitive but also clumsy, and each show typically represents Bungle involved in a comic dispute with the other puppet characters, Zippy and George, with Geoffrey Hayes mediating. Bungle appears without clothes during the day, but puts pyjamas on to go to bed and has a towel round his waist after a bath. Character history Originally, Bungle's face stuck out more, and his belly was white.
