Gavrilović is a Croatian food processing company specializing in meats such as sausages and salami. The company is based in Petrinja, Croatia and can trace its history there as far back as 1690. History The precursor to the modern company began in 1690, when Ivan and Petar Gavrilović began a craft of selling meat in Petrinja. During 1775, the family of Gavrilović are mentioned as one of the founders of the butcher's guild, and at the beginning of the 19th century, they are referenced as the main supplier of Napoleon's army. The company itself was founded in 1821, being granted the concession for manufacture to supply the barracks of the Croatian Military Frontier, and its existing processes were expanded. Andrija Maurović
Andrija Maurović (; 29 March 1901 – 2 September 1981) was a renowned comic book author, often called the father of Croatian and Yugoslav comics. He is mostly known for his ''Stari Mačak'' (Old Mickey, Old Cat) series, published mostly during the 30s, eventually becoming a nickname for the author himself. He was born in Muo near Kotor in the Kingdom of Dalmatia (today in Montenegro) to a family of mixed background, eventually enrolling at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and subsequently pursuing his career as an illustrator and comic book creator for the local publications. Together with other writers and artists, he founded the comics magazine "Mickey Strip" in 1937, where much of his work was serialized. 2020 Petrinja Earthquake
At approximately 12:20 PM CET (11:20 UTC) on 29 December 2020, an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 (6.2 ) hit central Croatia, with an epicenter located roughly west-southwest of Petrinja. The maximum felt intensity was estimated at VIII (''Heavily damaging'') to IX (''Destructive'') on the European macroseismic scale. Before this event there were three foreshocks, the strongest of which had a magnitude of 5.2 on the day before. The earthquake was followed by numerous aftershocks, the strongest of which had a magnitude of 4.9 . The adversely affected areas were mostly in the Sisak-Moslavina County and other nearby Croatian counties, as well as some of the nearby areas of Bosnia and Slovenia.
