Gábor Boczkó
Gábor Boczkó (born 1 April 1977) is a Hungarian fencer, who won a silver medal in the team Épée competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens together with Krisztián Kulcsár, Géza Imre and Iván Kovács. Boczkó took up fencing after his father took him to a competition in Tapolca. His first coach was Kinga Borosné Eitner. Tapolca
Tapolca (; german: Toppoltz) is a town in Veszprém County, Hungary, close to Lake Balaton. It is located at around . The town has an outer suburb, Tapolca-Diszel, approximately 5 km to the East. Etymology The origin of ''Tapolca'' is disputed, originating either from the Hungarian ''Tapolcza'', meaning "high place", or from the Slavic ''Toplica''/''Teplica'' meaning "hot springs". It was also known as ''Turul'' or ''Turultapolca'' at some points in the Middle Ages. Notable sights The Lake Cave This 3 km long lake cave system is situated in the heart of the town. It was opened to the public in 1912, ten years after its discovery. Small boats can be hired to explore the cave system. At 15–20 m below the town, a 5 km long cave system criss-crosses the Miocene limestone layers. This includes the 3.3 km long Lake Cave, which is mostly filled with karst water. Fencing At The Summer Olympics
Fencing has been contested at every Summer Olympic Games since the birth of the modern Olympic movement at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. Géza Imre (; born 23 December 1974) is a Hungarian fencer, who has won four Olympic medals in the Épée competitions, a silver medal in 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, a bronze medal in 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and a silver medal in 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Krisztián Kulcsár
Krisztián Kulcsár (born 28 June 1971) is a Hungarian fencer, who has won two Olympic silver medals in the team épée competition. He became world champion in 2007. As of 2013, he is deputy chairman of the Hungarian Fencing Federation. Kulcsár has a university degree in Economics and Law. In his private life, he is married with two daughters and one son. Kulcsár was elected President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB) on 2 May 2017, replacing Zsolt Borkai. The general assembly of MOB withdrew confidence from Kulcsár on 30 December 2021. Therefore, Kulcsár resigned from his position with effect from 31 January 2022. Fencing
Fencing is a group of three related combat sports. The three disciplines in modern fencing are the foil, the épée, and the sabre (also ''saber''); winning points are made through the weapon's contact with an opponent. A fourth discipline, singlestick, appeared in the 1904 Olympics but was dropped after that and is not a part of modern fencing. Fencing was one of the first sports to be played in the Olympics.
