Gunnar Biörck
Gunnar Biörck (4 April 1916 – 28 October 1996) was a Swedish physician, a specialist in cardiology, professor of medicine, personal physician for the Swedish Royal family, and member of the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament). He was born in Gothenburg to Wilhelm Biörck and Lizzie Petterson, and was married to Margareta Lundberg in 1944. He was appointed professor of medicine at the Karolinska Institute from 1958. He was elected to the Riksdag in 1976, representing the Moderate Party The Moderate Party ( sv, Moderata samlingspartiet , ; M), commonly referred to as the Moderates ( ), is a liberal-conservative political party in Sweden. Gothenburg (; abbreviated Gbg; sv, Göteborg ) is the second-largest city in Sweden, fifth-largest in the Nordic countries, and capital of the Västra Götaland County. The Moderate Party ( sv, Moderata samlingspartiet , ; M), commonly referred to as the Moderates ( ), is a liberal-conservative political party in Sweden. The party generally supports tax cuts, the free market, civil liberties and economic liberalism. Internationally, it is a full member of the International Democrat Union and the European People's Party. The party was founded in 1904 as the General Electoral League (''Allmänna valmansförbundet'' ) by a group of conservatives in the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament. The party was later known as The Right (''Högern'' ; 1938–1952) and Right Wing Party (''Högerpartiet'' ; 1952–1969).
