Guishan District
Guishan District () is a district in northeastern Taoyuan City, Taiwan. History Guishan was formerly known as ''Kulunsia'' ( (Ku-lun-siā))). The name originated from a hill by the Mercy Buddha Temple of Shou Shan Rock, built in 7th year of the Qianlong Period of the Qing Dynasty. The plains aborigines and Ketagalan tribes were located here. From 1920 to 1945, was under Tōen District, Shinchiku Prefecture. In 1950, it was renamed to ''Kueishan''. On 25 December 2014, it was upgraded from Guishan Township to a district called Guishan District. District (Taiwan)
Districts are administrative subdivisions of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan)'s special municipality (Taiwan), special municipalities of the second level and provincial city (Taiwan), provincial cities of the third level formerly under its Provinces of China, provinces. There are two types of district in the administrative scheme. Ordinary districts are governed directly by the municipality/city government with district administrators appointed by the mayors to four-year terms. The mountain indigenous district is a local government body with elected district chiefs as well as district council serving four-year terms. Chang Gung University
Chang Gung University (CGU; ) is a private university in Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. History The institution was established as the Chang Gung Medical College in April 1987. Engineering and management students have been accepted since 1993, when the name was changed to Chang Gung College of Medicine and Technology. In July 1997, the name was changed again to Chang Gung University. In February 2011 Chang Gung University and Arizona State University established an international Biosignatures Center aimed at the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer and other diseases. Taoyuan Railway Station
Taoyuan () is a railway station in Taoyuan, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways Administration. The station was the second busiest station in 2020 in terms of passenger volume, behind Taipei. The Taoyuan MRT is planned to be extended to Taoyuan. Structure There is one island platform and two side platforms. The side platform of Linkou line is outside the station owing to free service. The station is undergoing a massive construction as of 2015. Two elevated island platforms will be built to replace the existing platforms. The tracks for two Taoyuan MRT underground lines are also being built. Because of the construction, the station is temporarily relocated until 2020, when the new platforms and tracks are expected to be completed. Yingge Railway Station
Yingge () is a railway station in Yingge District, New Taipei, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways. Overview The station has two island platforms and the main station building is located over the tracks. The station accepts EasyCard or TWSC for payment for travel from Ruifang to (29 stations). The station is expected to be a transfer station with the New Taipei Metro's Sanying line in 2023. This will also be the only station on Sanying line that can transfer to Taiwan Railways. Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) is a railway operator in Taiwan. It is an agency of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, responsible for managing, maintaining, and running conventional passenger and freight railway services on 1097 km of track in Taiwan. Hutou Mountain Park
The Hutou Mountain Park () is a park in Guishan District and Taoyuan District of Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Name Hutou means "tiger head" in Chinese. Geology The average elevation of the park is above sea level. The mountain is shaped like a tiger, thus giving the park its name. Features There are many hiking routes connecting playgrounds, barbeque sites, temples, and other scenic spots. The park is powered by renewable energy, with a windmill at the entrance. Formosa Plastics Group Museum
The Formosa Plastics Group Museum is located on the grounds of Chang Gung University in Taiwan. After opening to the public in 2004, it became a tourist attraction in Taoyuan. The museum has six above-ground exhibition floors and one basement exhibition area covering over 8,000 square meters. Its main purpose is to educate the general public in regards to the two FPG founders, Wang Yung-Ching and Wang Yung Tsai. Free individual, scheduled group and holiday tours as well as recorded audio guides are available to visitors. Architecture 1st Floor: The Spirit of the Formosa Plastics Group The lobby features the museum's first acquisition, a fifty-thousand-year-old piece of petrified wood at its center. Taoyuan Refinery
The Taoyuan Refinery () is an oil refinery in Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. History The refinery was established in 1976. In 2008, a gasoline pyrolysis and hydro-desulfurization unit was constructed at the refinery with a capacity of 30,000 barrels per day.
