Grorud IL
Grorud Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Grorud borough, Oslo. It has sections for association football, skiing, gymnastics and tennis. General history As a sports club based in Grorud, it had two predecessor clubs in ''Grorud IF'', which existed from 1904 to 1905, and ''Grorud TIF'', which existed from 1908 to 1914. Grorud IL was finally founded on 18 March 1918. At the time, Grorud was still located in Aker municipality. The district was incorporated into Oslo in 1948 and tied to the city centre with the Grorud Line of the Oslo Metro in 1966. The club finished construction of its football field in 1926, and its ski jumping hill Rannkollen in 1928. In 1932 the football field was covered with gravel, which allowed the practice of skating sports during the winter. In 1932, Grorud IL was one of the first workers' sports clubs to take up the tennis sport. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. Frode Rinnan
Frode Rinnan (12 December 1905 – 15 February 1997) was a Norwegian architect and politician for the Labour Party. Early career He was born in Trondhjem as a son of ship inspector Carl Julius Rinnan (1881–1963) and his wife Thonny Nielsen (1880–1955). After finishing his secondary education in 1925, he enrolled at the Norwegian Institute of Technology where he graduated in architecture in 1930. He chaired the Student Society in Trondheim in the autumns of 1928 and 1929. He worked as an assistant of architect Ole Øvergaard from 1931 to 1932, before working in the publishing house Fram Forlag for a year. He was a member of the revolutionary socialist group '' Mot Dag'' and the pacifist group Clarté. He was also active in Arbeidernes Idrettsforbund with planning of sports venues. Norwegian Cup
The Norwegian Football Cup ( no, Norgesmesterskapet i fotball for herrer) is the main knockout cup competition in Norwegian football. It is run by the Football Association of Norway and has been contested since 1902, making it the oldest football tournament in the country. The tournament is commonly known as ''Cupen'' ("The Cup"), NM or NM Cup (''NM Cupen''), an acronym formed from ''Norgesmesterskap'' ("Norwegian Championship"). These terms are used to describe both the men's and women's competitions. The equivalent competition for women's teams is the Norwegian Women's Football Cup. The Norwegian Football Cup is a national championship, meaning that while the Eliteserien may be the most prestigious competition to win, it is the winners of the Cup who are awarded the title "Norwegian football champions". Årvoll IL
Årvoll Idrettslag is a Norway, Norwegian sports club from Årvoll, Bjerke (borough), Bjerke, Oslo. It has sections for association football, team handball, volleyball, orienteering and Nordic skiing. It was founded on 16 October 1932. The club colors are red and blue. Their home field is Årvoll kunstgress. The men's football team currently plays in the Fourth Division, the fifth tier of Norwegian football, after being relegated from the Norwegian Third Division, Third Division in 2010 Norwegian Third Division, 2010. Groruddalen BK
Groruddalen Ballklubb was a Norwegian association football club from Groruddalen, Oslo. The club came into existence through the merger of a number of local clubs in 2002, but went defunct again in 2008, after some of those clubs withdrew their backing. The club's short existence was spent in the Norwegian third and second division, missing its aim, to earn promotion to the first division, narrowly in 2007. Founding The valley of Groruddalen had a long history of competition between the many football teams. SF Grei was the best team for most of the 1990s, but there was little backing to be found from other clubs in the region. In late 1995 there were talks about a merger, this time between the football branches of Refstad-Veitvet IL, Linderud IL and possibly Årvoll IL and Hasle-Løren IL.
