Greg Brown (born 29 July 1962) is a former association football, footballer who played as striker for both the New Zealand national football team, New Zealand and Australia national association football team, Australian national football teams. Club career Brown played semi-professionally for Mossley A.F.C., Mossley, Hyde United F.C., Hyde United and Southport F.C., Southport in the United Kingdom before being brought to New Zealand by Napier City Rovers midway through 1985. Despite being sent off in his club debut, Brown's goalscoring touch immediately turned struggling Napier's season around leading them from the bottom of the New Zealand National Soccer League to 1985 Chatham Cup winners in a final that became known as "Greg Brown's final", in which he scored one goal and set up two others in the 3–1 win over North Shore United. Parramatta Football Club, commonly known as Parramatta Melita Eagles or just Melita, are a semi-professional Australian soccer club based in South Granville, New South Wales. Miramar Rangers AFC is an amateur New Zealand association football club in the Wellington suburb of Miramar. The club is one of the most successful in New Zealand having won the Chatham Cup four times and the National League title twice. The 1985 Chatham Cup was the 58th annual nationwide knockout football competition in New Zealand. Early stages of the competition were run in three regions (northern, central, and southern), with the National League teams receiving a bye into the Fourth Round (last 32) of the competition. In all, 141 teams took part in the competition. Note: Different sources give different numberings for the rounds of the competition: some start round one with the beginning of the regional qualifications; others start numbering from the first national knock-out stage.
