Greenvalley Public School
Greenvalley Public School is an educational institution in Nellikuzhi, Kothamangalam, in the state of Kerala, India. TIt is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, for AISSE (Grade 10) and AISSCE (Grade 12) examinations. It was established in 1996 by Molly Pradeep, late wife of the present director, Pradeep Kuriakose. It has a sister school in Perumbavoor, which provides elementary education. On 31 October 2022, a police raid found enormous quantity of narcotics inside the school. The security staff of the school were allegedly engaged in sale of drugs, tobacco and marijuana within the school. Academics The school has eight periods a day, each around 40 minutes. The school day runs from 9:30 until 3:30. A snack break is held from 10:55-11:00am, lunch break from 12:55-1:20pm, and another short break from 2:45-2:50pm. Onam
Onam ( ) is an annual Indian harvest festival celebrated predominantly by the Hindus of Kerala. A major annual event for Keralites, it is the official festival of the state and includes a spectrum of cultural events. Onam commemorates Vamana and King Mahabali. According to Hindu legends, Onam is celebrated in Kerala in remembrance of the good governance under the rule of daitya king Mahabali, a mythical king who once ruled Kerala. The legend holds that jealous of Mahabali's popularity and his power, the devas and gods conspired to end his reign. They sent Vamana to earth in the form of a dwarf Brahmin who trampled Mahabali to patala (netherworld). Vamana asked Mahabali for three feet of land as his wish from the generous Mahabali. Kakkanad
Kakkanad is a major industrial and residential region in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It is situated in the eastern part of the city and houses the Cochin Special Economic Zone, Infopark, Smart City and KINFRA Export Promotion Industrial Park. Kabaddi
Kabaddi is a contact team sport. Played between two teams of seven players, the objective of the game is for a single player on offence, referred to as a "raider", to run into the opposing team's half of the court, touch out as many of their players and return to their own half of the court, all without being tackled by the defenders in 30 seconds. Points are scored for each player tagged by the raider, while the opposing team earns a point for stopping the raider. Players are taken out of the game if they are touched or tackled, but are brought back in for each point scored by their team from a tag or a tackle. Kho Kho
Kho kho or kho-kho is a traditional Indian sport that dates back to ancient India. It is the second most popular traditional tag game in the Indian subcontinent after kabaddi. Kho kho is played on a rectangular court with a central lane connecting two poles which are at either end of the court. During the game, nine players from the chasing team (attacking team) are on the field, with eight of them sitting (crouched) in the central lane, while three runners from the defending team run around the court and try to avoid being touched. Central Board Of Secondary Education
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India.
