Green Party Of Malaysia
The Green Party of Malaysia ( ms, Parti Hijau Malaysia) is a political party in Malaysia with an environmentalism focus. It was formed in 2010, but remains an online virtual movement. Founder Azlan Adnan's original intent was to empower and unite all Environmental NGOs (ENGOs) in Malaysia and to push the green agenda into the Malaysian political consciousness. The party is affiliated with Himpunan Hijau with more than 80 NGO's. The party was initially anti-Barisan Nasional but over the years have become more divergent and is more critical of both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan. As of June 5, 2022, the party has never contested in any elections on the national and statewide level. Centre-left
Centre-left politics lean to the left on the left–right political spectrum but are closer to the centre than other left-wing politics. Green Politics
Green politics, or ecopolitics, is a political ideology that aims to foster an ecologically sustainable society often, but not always, rooted in environmentalism, nonviolence, social justice and grassroots democracy. Multiracialism is a conceptual framework used to theorize and interpret identity formation in global multiracial populations. Multiracialism explores the tendency for multiracial individuals to identify with a third category of 'mixed-ness' as opposed to being a fully accepted member of multiple, or any, racial group(s). Himpunan Hijau
Himpunan Hijau (English: "Green Assembly" or "Green Rally") is a Malaysian environmentalist movement protesting against the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP), a rare earth processing plant operating in Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang set up by the Australian company Lynas. The refinery process is accused of dumping tonnes of toxic and radioactive waste on the local lives, livelihoods, the environment and the health of future generations. The ''Save Malaysia Stop Lynas'' (SMSL) group is currently led by the Member of Parliament for Bentong; Wong Tack. The refining facility entered production in 2013, producing 1,089 tonnes of rare earth oxides in the first quarter of 2014, with a target of 11,000 tonnes per annum. On 2 September 2014, Lynas was issued a 2-year Full Operating Stage License (FOSL) by the Malaysian Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB). Barisan Nasional
The National Front ( ms, Barisan Nasional; abbrev: BN) is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after coalition Pakatan Harapan with 82 seats and the coalition Perikatan Nasional with 73 seats. The Barisan Nasional coalition employs the same inter-communal governing model of its predecessor the Alliance Party but on a wider scale, with up to 14 communal political parties involved in the coalition at one point. Pakatan Harapan
The Alliance of Hope ( ms, Pakatan Harapan; abbrev: PH; stylized as HARAPAN) is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left political parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. It has been the ruling coalition since November 2022 after it formed the coalition government with other political coalitions and parties as a result of the 2022 Malaysian general election, and after it won the 2018 Malaysian general election to February 2020 when it lost power as a result of the 2020 Malaysian political crisis at the federal level for 22 months.
